The 2024 AB Mechanical CQ Gravel Championships is co-hosted by Rockhampton MTB and Rockhampton Cycling Club on Sunday 18 August.

The course

99% Gravel roads. You will require a basic level of experience and confidence in mountain/gravel biking and a good level of fitness and endurance. All courses will be clearly marked with signage & arrows. Each track junction will have a sign with directions on which way to go, depending on which distance you are completing. There will also be course marshals at each significant turn. See maps and course descriptions for more detail.

There are multiple checkpoints along this course. Please make sure that you are aware of the checkpoints applicable to your distance.

Fees

Early Bird Pricing (Prior to 11th August)
* Long Course (70km) $30
* Medium Course (35km) $25

Regular Pricing (After 11th August)
* Long Course (70km) $45
* Medium Course (35km) $35

** IMPORTANT: All Junior (U15 & U17) competitors MUST nominate a chaperone rider to ride with them. Please provide chaperone details in the comments section of your entry. If no chaperone has been nominated, the junior competitor may not be able to compete ** *Juniors with a Learners Permit do not need a chaperone.

7.00 - 7.45am	Race number collection & Sign in
7.50am	Compulsory Race Briefing (all events)
8.00am	Race start (Long Course event)
8.30am	Race start (Medium Course event)

IMPORTANT: All competitors must be at the event hub and attend the race briefing prior to the first wave of riders leaving to ensure that no unnecessary traffic is present on the race course

Athlete Guide & Event Information

All entrants must have a valid AusCycling Race (Road or Offroad) Licence. An Event Licence may be purchased no earlier than the day prior to the event if required through AusCycling.
