Riding bikes is fun. Pedal Heads Inc want to share their passion for Mountain bikes with our local community, that's why we are hosting a Winter Race Series for all levels. Non Members are welcome.

About the Pedal Heads Open Club Championship

There are a few weeks left until the end of 2021 and we will organise two more races to crown the inaugural Pedal Heads Club Champions - of course all riders and members of other clubs are welcome!
Pedal Heads can check their points standings here: https://pedalheads.org.au/pedal-heads-club-championship-standing/. The Club Champions will be the Pedal Heads with the most points in their categories from the 6 races minus one scratch result.

Race 6 will continue the format we have developed, albeit with a little twist. This time we will set up 2 stages: the top of Mack10 (top to bottom for all riders) and Rock Lobster (second gully crossing to the bottom). As always you can practise as much as you like (in fact we encourage it!) and on race day you will have a three hour window to ride as often as you like in pursuit of your own personal best. We will celebrate the fastest person in each category of each race.

About Race 6 - Finale Mack10

Based on popular demand (we asked our riders): Mack10 is back! You all wanted to race our fastest trail and it's back on the calendar, as the last race of the season. There is a little twist: we can't possibly let you roll back down to the Trail Head without adding just a little bit of excitement, so the last part of Rock Lobster (from the second gully) will be your second stage. Don't forget the drop off point is on Loila Tier, which means riding down Send Helen's and up Icarus Connector to get to the start - just to warm up your muscles before you drop in.

Juniors: Last time Mack10 was on many young racers were bitterly disappointed that they couldn't ride the whole trail. We've listened and this time you all get to ride ... all of it! For those of you who are still a little intimidated by some of the features: you have a month to get your courage up & your lines down pat.

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: this is the last race of the 2021 Pedal Heads Club Championship which means the presentation will take a bit longer. As always we'll first celebrate the race winners, irrespective of club affiliations. After that we'll crown our inaugural club champions, and we'd love everyone to stay if you can and cheer with us.

Before you jump in & sign up

Please note that you need to have an MTBA or AusCycling RACE or DAY license - please check before you sign up. We're sure your bike is in great nick, with working brakes, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends. Since we'll be racing on gravity trails we'll require you to bring your full face helmet (we accept models with removable chin bars). Juniors will be required to wear knee & long sleeves or elbow guards & full finger gloves but we hope everyone will be wearing those. Neck, back protection & body armour is recommended.

If you don't want to race

That's not a reason to stay at home! We need marshals to help keep our riders safe, and spectators who cheer them on. In any case bring something to make a lot of noise with!
