We have distances and speeds to cater to everyone. Please let us know your preferred group when entering. This helps us organise Ride Leaders for each group.
Distances will be 18, 28 & 50km catering for beginners to the more advanced riders. The trails are rated mainly blue and green with the odd black line option. We will be following the course of the upcoming Collie MTB marathon event in August leaving the the first and final 8-10 km of the 70km event out. All rides will start with a lap of Rays trail 7km, with the 18 km ride following the Arklow adaptive trail, the 28km following the Arklow Adaptive followed by Mornington Glory and Deadcats while the 50 km trail will incorporate all the trails in the network following the 70km route.
Riders will be set off in 3-4 different groups depending on their expected average speed so riders can comfortably ride with a group matching their speed level. The groups will be set with an average speed of 8-11kmph, 12-15kmph and 16-19kmph. With a ride leader designated to each group and regular catchup spots to ensure everyone stays together and on track!
If you would like to help out with leading a group and are particularly familiar with the trails in the area please make yourself known on the day, it would be much appreciated.
