About

Proudly Hosted by the South Perth Rouleurs

A great Spring Classic Road Race

A fast, 114km out-and-back course over undulating, quiet rural roads. Reminiscent of the Beverley to Perth Race, cycle racing returns to the Wheatbelt town of Beverley again.

The history of the Beverley - known originally as the Rover Road Race dating back to 1897, then referred to as “The Beverley”, the original races ran through until 1999. This year, The Beverley Handicap sends riders Westwards out of town along the Talbot West Road and then returning.

Rolling over undulating terrain, riders travel through rural views gently uphill, into shaded bushland of Wandoo National Park. The turnaround on to the return run sees a fast flowing lightly downhill run. The racing climaxes in the short rise on the approach to Lennard Rd with 4km to go– the first rider to crest holds the advantage in a fast run into the line.

Ride safe, be courteous, obey road rules, listen to race officials and SPR hopes you enjoy the day

  • Any complaint or query during the event MUST be raised with the Race Commissaire or Race Director directly through the correct process.
  • Turnaround Point will be controlled by traffic management, but riders are ultimately responsible for knowing the correct route of their race. The course marshals are there for traffic control and safety, not to give riders directions.

  • ROADS ARE OPEN, ROAD RULES APPLY. Keep left at all times - OVERTAKE SLOW MOVING PUBLIC VEHICLES WITH CAUTION

  • You may need to overtake slower race grades and support vehicles – do so with caution
