SAFETY

Important Notice for Participants
By purchasing a ticket to participate in mountain biking events organised by Red Hill Riders Mountain Bike Club ("the Club"), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. Assumption of Risk:
Mountain biking is inherently risky and may result in serious injury or death. Risks include, but are not limited to, terrain changes, collisions, weather conditions, equipment issues, and physical exertion. By joining, you voluntarily accept all risks associated with your participation.

  2. Waiver of Liability:
You release and hold harmless the Club, its members, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your participation, including those resulting from negligence.

  3. Insurance Advisory:
The Club’s Public Liability insurance, provided via AusCycling, does not cover personal accident or rider-specific insurance. Participants are strongly encouraged to secure individual insurance through AusCycling memberships prior to the event. Insurance options are also available through the link provided above in the event information.

  4. Youth Rider Policy (Ages 12–16):
Riders aged 12–16 must meet specific conditions to participate:

    • Either be accompanied by an adult rider at all times during the event (accompanying adult will also need to purchase their own shuttle ticket), or
    • Be accomplished in riding the Red Hill Trails from top to bottom and have a parent/guardian available on standby in the immediate vicinity of Arthurs Seat State Park throughout the event.

Please note: Children checking in without an accompanying adult rider will not be allowed to ride.

  1. Children Under 12:
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a competent riding adult at all times during the event. This accompanying adult will also need to purchase their own shuttle ticket.

Scratchings and Waitlist:

In the likely scenario of a sold-out event the system is set up to accept up to 6 riders on a waitlist, these riders will be given first priority in the event of another rider cancelling/'scratching'. Scratch cut-off is 3 days pre-event. If you purchase a ticket and then need to pull out please scratch early to allow waitlist riders to plan ahead.
