2025 Juliana Gravity Girls Race Series

About the Race Series

The 2025 Juliana Gravity Girls Race Series is a four part women’s race series aimed at introducing women to racing in a supportive environment and fostering an interest and understanding of racing so that they can enter the current racing pathway with confidence and knowledge.

There are competitive entry categories for those who want to challenge themselves and enjoy the opportunity to race against the clock. The competitive categories are open to all females 10 years and above who have a current AusCycling All-Discipline or Off-Road race license.

There are also non-competitive categories for those who want to experience the event and ride on closed trails in a structed environment without the pressure of competition. The non-competitive categories are open to anyone with a current AusCycling All-Discipline or Off Road race license OR an AusCycling Lifestyle membership.

Riders using a one day or 4-week free trial license can enter competitive and non-competitive categories.

Race 1 - Dual Slalom - Friday 21st February, 2025

Eagle Mountain Bike Park

About Dual Slalom

Adapted from skiing, dual slalom pits two riders side by side, racing down parallel trails. After the first run, riders swap tracks and race again. Both runs are timed, and the rider with the fastest combined time wins the heat! The knockout format continues until we crown our final winner.

Non-competitive "just for fun" categories will see riders go down the trails one at a time.

Entry Categories & Fees

The following female categories are available:

Category
Competitive A Grade
Competitive B Grade
Competitive E-bike
Competitive U19
Competitive U15
Open "Just for Fun"

Minimum age is 10 years old.

Please check the following things before you enter.

  • You must have a current AusCycling off-road racing membership (or lifestyle membership for Just for Fun category).
  • Your EntryBoss account must have the correct AusCycling membership number.

You do not have to be a member of Gravity Girls SA.

Bring your license card / digital membership with you to sign-on! If this is your first try at racing you can get a FREE 4 week trial membership (only for people who have not held an AusCycling membership in the last 3 years). The 4 week trial membership commences from the day you sign up to the trial, so if you are considering a trial membership and wish to compete in a couple of the races of the series, we suggest only commencing the trial a day or two before the first race. You can also buy a day license.

Rules

The rules are here to keep everyone safe and ensure good sportsmanship. Whether you’re a competitive racer or just racing for fun, the same rules apply. Not respecting the rules will result in a time penalty, disqualification or potential ban from racing.

Competitors must show respect for all other competitors, officials and volunteers.

There will be no cutting of the course and competitors must stay within their own lane.

Riders will be responsible for ensuring they are at the start line at their dedicated time. Riders who are not at the start may miss their race.

Location and Course

The Dual Slalom will be raced at Eagle Mountain Bike Park. Parking will be within the park itself, within the old quarry, accessible by car via Mount Barker Road. Only Competitive A and U17/19 will start from on top of the concrete start area. Everyone else will start below the first rock garden.

The event village will be on the upper deck of the old quarry area. Competitors will push up or ride up the fire trail to the start of the course, which will run down the 4x track.

Timing and Race Plates

Race plates will be provided to participants at their first race of the series. Competitors will keep their race plates for the duration of the race series and are expected to bring their own race plate to each event. If riders forget their race plates, they will be charged $20 for a replacement plate.

Clothing and Equipment

Riders are required at minimum to have a Mountain Bike with two working brakes. All helmets must pass Australian Standards, and riders must wear enclosed shoes. The race director has the right to disqualify a rider if their clothing and bike is not deemed safe.
