The Minninup course is super flat, feast and fun. Not overly technical but super grippy though the corners and very well suited to power riders.
You don’t need to be doing any of the other rounds to take part. State series points will be allocated for each round, while points for the Wambenger Cup prizes will be the total of points accumulated from both rounds 1 & 2 on Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd
Camping/ Caravaning will be available either at the CollIe High School as has been it has been in the past, a 2km path ride along the river from the race course or right next to the course on a beautiful bend in the Collie River, known as Minninup Pool, which is a popular swim and paddle area complete with swing rope jumps into the water.
We expect to make bookings available for camping from February Friday the 10th for Friday Deb 28th through to Monday March 3rd.
We will have a secure bike lock up facility at either venue, so you can relax going elsewhere and whilst sleeping.
There is limited accommodation in Collie only a few hundred meters away and 15 minutes drive from the Wellington Dam Courses! - but book now as there is big festival on in Collie that weekend.
Bunbury is also only 35 & 50min away from the courses.
We are excited to offer a great contrast to Saturdays trail and the previous years circuit.
The 5.7km circuit is super fast and has the best grip available in WA!!! All the trails are hand built, fun, fast and flat!! .
We are excited to present you with the opportunity to race on these trails again this year and further blow you away with what trails are available and being developed in the Collie/ Wellington Dam region, including the very popular new Kylie trail 1km away and 20 plus km of new trails at Wellington Dam, completed last year.
There will be an opportunity to practice on these trails any day prior to the race following the attached map and fully marked for official practice between 7-8am on the Race Day.
There are new jump lines near the Start/Finish area to keep active kids entertained and a fantastic beautiful crystal clear lake next to the trails to cool off in. The trails are great for spectators with plenty of access points to easily watch the race at multiple points with a short walk between each.
Join us on Sunday 3rd of March in Collie for the second round of the Cross Country Olympic (XCO) 2023 state series and the final round of the South 32 Wambenger Cup, with the first round being on the Saturday morning at Potters Gorge- Wellington Dam.
We'll be following a similiar format to previous events in the XCO state series with Women's, Men's and Sprocket's categories. PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE NOW HAVE A D CLASS FOR WOMEN NOVICE/BEGINNER RIDERS AND E GRADE FOR MEN.
The event centre will be located on the Collie High School Sports Grounds just 1 min from the town centre and presentations at 1pm in the Town Centre park stage (details below).
