Start Location & Time:
The FVMTBC will be hosting the Southwest Epic Ride #3-2022 at Pile Rd, on this Sunday August 28th leaving from the bottom Carpark at 10.30am.
On Sunday there are 15/25/40 & 50 km options following the proposed CRAVE MTB Challenge Courses to be held on Monday September 26th.
Riders are broken up into 3-4 groups of 6-12 riders according to Speed so you don’t have to wait too long or feel like your holding everyone up. 😜👍. ( NOTE when entering the distances offered are different due to a current inability to change them, so when you choose ; 15km si 15km 😁, 30km =25km and 50km=40 or 50km.)🤪
****We will also offer a ride on Sat arvo starting at 3.30 ,doing a 30km Wellington Dam loop starting from the Wellington Dam Kiosk, following the proposed additional Wellington Dam loop of the 90km CRAVE Mega Epic Challenge. depending on interest. On Sunday we ride the Boylan Up trail, followed by the log park and Grizzly trail for the 15 km riders. Others will continue onto the extensions trail and then connect to the full Lennard trail in reverse for the 25km loop.Riders going further continue onto Wal’s trail, Buthers reverse, Pallet and down the 3km Millbrook descent to the River, along the river and then up Sailors Gully. 40km riders head back to Grizzly trail while 50km riders are in for a cruise to the near top of Mt Lennard and descend down the 4WD track dubbed “sketchy AF “ on 28% gradient for 1km, followed by some small challenging climbs and descents by the River before riding back up Sailors Gully again and back home down the new faster flowing Grizzly trail.
There’s drinks and food to be enjoyed back at the Wild Bull Brewery across the road from where we start and finish.
THIS YEAR we will incorporate 5 optional enduro/ cross timed stages of 500m- 2km in length. We will simply use Strava for the timing and indicate the start and finish of each stage using markers. If you don’t care you just ride on through.
*Registrations and Auscycling membership is now compulsory. * Please also join our club in the process but not compulsory.
There is no fee for the ride
and Auscycling memberships can be purchased for as little as $5 per month. (http://Auscycling.com.au/ memberships) you can select lifestyle membership for social rides only, race MTB option for both and all forms of racing cycling membership options including family memberships.

We have distances and speeds to cater to everyone. Please let us know your preferred group when entering. This helps us organise Ride Leaders for each group.
