Start Location & Time:
The FVMTBC will be hosting the Southwest Epic Ride #2-2002 in Collie on Sun 24th leaving from opposite the Federal Hotel and Black Diamond Lodge in Throssell St, Collie at 9am.
On Sunday there are 18km, 40km and 60km options with riders broken up into 3-4 groups of 6-12 riders according to Speed so you don’t have to wait too long or feel like your holding everyone up. 😜👍. ( NOTE when entering the distances offered are different due to a current inability to change them, so when you choose ; 15km=18km, 30km =40km and 50km=60km.)🤪
****We will also offer a ride on Sat arvo starting at 2pm ,doing 30-50km either on the Collie trails or from Wellington Dam to Pile Rd depending on interest. So for those wanting to stay in Collie overnight we recommend the Black Diamond Lodge next to the Federal Hotel, which is where we will leave from on Sunday. Book accommodation via their website and text Damon if you’re keen on riding Sat arvo. 0413 510 508.
On Sunday we will be riding the a bit of the Wagyl Biddi trail and Brand new 9km Kylie trail built by Magic Dirt following Scenic Dr to start with. Those doing the 18km option will head back to Collie from Black Diamond Pool while those continuing on will do trails included in the upcoming COLLIE MARATHON LOOP.
Those doing the longer rides will continue onto Mornington Glory, Dead Cats and Rays trails.
The people choosing to ride 40km will then continue on to the Arklow Adaptive trail and return to Collie via the Munda Biddi.
Those riding 60km will continue on the 220 trail, far lap, bull ant and pet cemetery trails before returning to Collie on the Munda Biddi.
There’s showers available for $4 each in the Carpark area and everyone is invited to have lunch and drinks at the Federal hotel after, with a warm fire and plenty of good food on offer.
THIS YEAR we will incorporate 5 optional enduro/ cross timed stages of 500m- 2km in length. We will simply use Strava for the timing and indicate the start and finish of each stage using markers. If you don’t care you just ride on through.
