CORC Cyclocross Round 3 2019

Thanks to our series sponsors, Capital Brewing and the Smart Centre for their support of Round 3 of the 2019 Canberra Cyclocross Series being held at Narrabundah velodrome. This race will also double as the championship round of the NSW/ACT CX Series but the prizes are just big bags of bragging rights so it'll be the same kind of race as usual.

As it is the championship we'll have a number of age groups categories and an explanation of the grades is provided below to help you make the right choice. Age groupings are based on your Cyclocross Age (as at 31/12/2020) - yes it's weird. We know.

We recognise both CA or MTBA licences for the event and the cost of entry is $25. If you don’t hold a licence, please complete a Free 2 Month Membership with MTBA if you are eligible prior to the event. Otherwise Day Licences will be available for $33. Please note that we do not recognise Australian Veteran Cycling Council licences.

Please register for the event via EntryBoss. ** Please use the comments field if you're running a spare bike, as we need to issue you a special second number!**

For riders racing in the “Open” grades any bike is welcome, however for Elite and Masters 30+ categories, in the spirit of the NSWCX Series, drop bars with a maximum tyre width of 35mm are required.

New for this year are our junior categories. These are for the kids wanting to race the full course but who aren't quite ready to step up to C-Grade.

Course Open: 12:00

Rego: 12:00 – 12:45

Race 1: 13:00 – Junior Categories (U13 to U17), Women’s Open, Men’s Open, Mens Masters 5+ – 30 mins

Race 2: 13:45 – Elite Women, Women’s Masters (All Categories), U19 (Men & Women), Men’s B Cyclocross – 40mins

Race 3: 14:40 – Little Crossers and Junior's Participation Event

Race 4: 15:00 – Elite Men and Men’s Masters (MA1-MA4) 50min

Results The race is timed using the club's electronic timing system and the results will be available on the day.

Grades - to help you select the right grade as there are so many!

Elite Men and Elite Women: Racing for the win on a cyclocross bike. Like our usual A Grade Race

Masters Men's and Masters Women (MAS1-MAS7+) : You want to race other riders on a cyclocross bike in your age group. If you want to race the Mens Masters 30+ NSWCX category, this is for you!

Men's Open and Women's Open: You want to race on any bike, just like our usual Women's B or Men's C Grade race

Men's B Cyclocross: The NSWCX Category for riders on a CX bike. Just like our usual Men's B Grade Race.

U19, U17, U15, U13: Riders who want to race in their age group on the full course. Any bike is welcome.

Juniors: Riders under the age of 11 just wanting to have fun. They will race in the junior participation event.
