Vikings Cycling Club and Canberra Cycling Club are again teaming up to bring you a combined road calendar for 2021. Each road race is the result of a collaborative effort from the two clubs.


COVID-19 ADVICE

By registering for this event you agree to act in accordance with our COVID Safety Plan.

Total registrations are in accordance with current group size requirements.

You must check in using the Check-In CBR app when you arrive at the event.

Remember to:

  • bring your mask
  • Check-In using our Check-in CBR code 017707 (QR image below)
  • maintain 1 person per 2 square metres before and after the ride

Do not come if:

  1. You are not well
  2. You have any flu like symptoms
  3. You have tested positive to a COVID test within the last 14 days
  4. You are waiting on the result of your COVID test
  5. You have been to an exposure location and are required to self isolate
  6. You have been to any of the HOT SPOTS listed by ACT Health in the last 14 days
  7. You have travelled interstate to a known HOT SPOT within the last 14 days
  8. Travelled internationally in the past 14 days
  9. Have a medical condition or at an age which puts you in a high-risk category

  • Timing - Active Timing will be used. Riders will be allocated red timing chips and race numbers (no club numbers)

Course start/finish is the corner of Brindabella and Uriarra Rd - Open Road Conditions.

Category Details

Championship

  • U9/U11: Short modified lap (3km). Riders head south and complete the short part of the lap towards Condor Creek for a distance of 3km. Note this will have a start in the opposite direction to everyone else. Riders must be supported by an adult outrider (parent or guardian). This needs to be arranged with Junior Coordinator prior.
  • U13/U15/U17/U19: 1 full lap (14km). Riders start in a northerly direction.
  • Masters 1 - 9, U23, Elite: 2 full laps (28km). Riders start in a northerly direction.
  • Paracycling - Category Dependent - Full list of distances here

These are Championship categories. For these championship categories, only UCI Legal bikes and equipment may be used.

Make sure you select the appropriate category (ie U17, Elite, Masters, Para etc) when completing the entry form to indicate that you are contesting a championship event.

Eligibility

These are an 'Open' championship event as per the AusCycling Technical Regulations: General.

As per Clause 2.03.02, only permanent residents of the ACT shall be eligible for the relevant title. The first placed individual from the ACT in each category shall be acknowledged as the Champion for that event and will be presented with relevant prizes.

Riders from other jurisdictions may participate in line with the AusCycling Technical Regulations: General.


Parking

It is recommended that riders park on the grassed area to the West of the intersection. Please ensure that all vehicles are parked well off the road when parking on the verge. All vehicles are to be kept well clear of the start/finish area.

First rider roll away 10:00am

Individual Start Times will be published to RaceResult.

Do not arrive at the last minute - allow yourself enough time to attach your timing chip and race number.


Volunteers

The 2021 Road season is run by volunteers from the CCC and VCC, but members from other clubs are welcome to volunteer and support racing in the ACT as well as receive the volunteer incentives set out below.

Volunteers will receive the following incentives at eligible 2021 Road Events:

  • Each time you volunteer as a Race Director - 2 free race entries
  • Each time you volunteer in another capacity - 1 free race entry

To be eligible to claim free entry you must have nominated and been allocated to a race.

Registration

To ensure that we have a record of all participants registration is only via EntryBoss.

Licences

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct licence, and your data in EntryBoss is correct. This will be verified when you register. Riders who have a licence issue will not be allocated a position on the start list.

AusCycling Race All Discipline licences are required to contest the Championship categories. One day, 7 day, and 4-week trials are not eligible for the championships.

If you are new to racing and want to try a support race before committing to a full race licence, you can take out a 4-week free trial or sign up for a one or 7-day event licence.


On the Day

  1. Upon arrival please confirm your attendance at the check-in desk (including checking in using the Check-In CBR app, collecting a number and timing chip) and then move clear of the check-in desk area.

  2. A rider briefing, count and roll call will be conducted before each grade roll away. Please be ready when your grade is called.

  3. At the end of each grade riders must return their number and timing chip and then clear the start/finish line area to maintain social distancing requirements.

  4. Placegetters please wait for presentations and photos.

  5. Results will be posted to my.raceresult.com.

  6. We will try and arrange for soft drink after the race. Please come prepared with your own supplies.

  7. If any rider exhibits COVID-19 symptoms in the two weeks following the race, they must advise the COVID-19 Officer who will follow up with health authorities.


Please note

  • Riders must register via Entryboss prior to the race.
  • On the day entries will not be accepted.
  • All riders check-in within the allocated time window. No late check-in.
  • Riders must be present for the race brief prior to their grade start.
  • Please present your helmet including an approved helmet sticker at sign-on.
  • All riders must have a current AusCycling Race All Disciplines membership.

Scratching and Cancellation

  • Scratching - Scratching is a self-serve, automated refund via EntryBoss if withdrawing within scratching cut-off.
  • Event Cancellation - Riders will be provided with a full refund if the event is cancelled for any reason.
  • Refunds - Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or if you scratch after the cut off.
