3 hour Pony Express style MTB event, the aim is to get everyone out and celebrate all the fun of Cairns MTB community

The best MTB social event night of the year - Join us for an 80's Disco themed Pony Express

• Get thinking of your team name now - you'll need this when you sign up.

We are not playing for keeps, just bragging rights. The list of local supporters is long so instead of fastest laps prizes will be going to all sorts of random lucky draws, novelty laps (so e-bikers and DH be prepared) but most of all to the best 80's Disco fluoro dressed teams.

If you don't have a Race-Off Road License PLEASE upgrade by ticking YES to a one day license on the entry form when you enter.

Scratching:
Entered & can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time are at the discretion of the event organisers and may require a medical certificate.

Event Info

A course that’s not too technical, but enough of a run track. Sunset is at 6pm so night lappers MUST have suitable lights for both head and handlebars

All laps must be completed by the time limits.

Age limits apply / Riders Under 11 are wanting to enter - they must ride with an accompanying adult, For junior juniors there'll be heaps of fun & games still so bring all the bikes!! The clubhouse pump track and skills park.

Juniors U18 - as with all of our events - must attend with a parent on site.

Event Schedule

Rego from 3.00-3.30pm Rider Briefing 3:45pm Race from 4.00-7.00pm BBQ and drinks available all night Presentations Best Dressed and Lucky Draws when racing concludes.

Event Site

Event site is at JCU event site Pony Express Start/ Finish Zone will be in the flat finish middle road (closed off to cars) and parking will be along the grass areas above and below the finish straight. BBQ running throughout the event so even if you are not racing bring the family out to ride the pump track have a snag and drink.

There will be ample room for some marquees along the edge of the middle straight (start/finish) for the rider change over, so bring your own chairs, marquee (first in), lights & setup in our event zone to get close to the atmosphere. Camp lights and spare floodlights recommended.

Event will run from 4pm till 8pm, so the last few laps will be getting dark is sunset is at 6PM

Racing from 4pm – Le Mans / Running Start (potentially)

REGISTRATION INFO

Register as an individual rider - First one to register for your team will enter the Team Name,

Once there are names in there a drop down for other team names will be available.

No need to register all at the same time.

We will sort the teams prior to racing - and if you don't have a full team - we can put you in a combined one or you can race individually.

Course INFO

Length of lap 5kms

Course Description: Trail Grade - Green/blue trails/ SHORT FAST SPRINT LAP

Course will be marked out day before: JCU area > Wobbegong > Flat Snake> Red Belly Beginners(green) > Greenfields (excl Echidna & Turkey) > through S Bends exit to JCU

Equipment

Compulsory – Helmet and lights required for both head and bars for night laps.
