Event Information

Full race information, including a Crit Calendar you can print, is on the Summer Crits page on our website. Read this before you register!

Entries will open 9.00 am Thursday the week before each race and close (entries and scratching) 2pm the Wednesday of the race.

Registration

STRICTLY NO ‘AT THE RACE’ OR LATE REGISTRATIONS

To manage our record-keeping and participation reporting we require all participants (including juniors in the JW and HC grades) to register each week via EntryBoss.

Season pass holders are automatically entered into each race.

Grades

Grades reflect a rider’s ability and experience, not age, gender, or pure power alone.

A Grade – For the strongest and most experienced riders. Riders here will typically have long experience, high race craft, speed, and consistency. Elite level, national/state standard competitors, and top juniors or women ride in A if their ability and experience match.

B Grade – For strong riders developing towards the top levels. Includes experienced Masters, developing juniors and women. Riders in B are competitive, but not quite at the all-out pace of A.

C Grade – For solid mid-pack racers with good experience. Riders who have some race craft, fitness, and confidence. Many Masters, women, and juniors who are established but not at the B or A grade level compete here.

D Grade – For developing riders stepping up into more competitive racing. Ideal for juniors, women or masters riders moving out of entry-level, or riders with limited bunch racing experience. Focus is on bunch skills, handling, and safe progression.

E Grade – Entry level racing. All new riders, regardless of power or fitness, must start in E. This grade emphasises safety, learning, race craft, bunch behaviour, and enjoyment. Once a rider demonstrates sufficient ability, experience, and safety in bunch racing, they may progress to higher grades.

Junior White – Junior HC Graduates This category is for all U13 riders who have been promoted from the Junior HC category, and some U15/U17 riders who have been allocated to the grade by the grader. Only rarely, and in very exceptional circumstances, including both very highly developed fitness and bunch riding skill level, will U13 riders be permitted to race in the higher adult grades.

Junior HC – Juniors new to cycling. This Junior HC category is for ages 6 to 13, and occasionally for U13/U15 riders who are new to cycling. Any type of bike may be used in this category, but it must have (only) two wheels. You also need to be able to ride a bike without trainer wheels. Riders in this category will be handicapped each week, meaning the slower riders are given a head start, giving everyone a chance to win.

Grade Changes

  • No on-the-day grade changes.
  • Grading is set for safety and fair racing.
  • ✅ Green tick = your current grade.
  • ⚠️ Yellow exclamation mark = grade is available but requires justification. If selecting, do so several days before the race and explain clearly why you are not choosing your current grade.
  • The final grading is always at the discretion of the club.

More information about grading information is on the Crit Info Page.

If you have any questions please email our club handicapper Stephen Blackburn
