About

The 2021 AusCycling BMX National Championships, will be held at Nerang BMX Club and are proudly supported by Major Events Gold Coast.

24” Cruiser (M/F) 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
20" Masters (M) 30+
Masters 20" or 24" (F) 30+
Junior Superclass (M/F) 14-16
Superclass (M/F) 16+
Junior Elite (M/F) 17-18
Elite (M/F) 19+


Notes:
- Riders are only permitted to enter one (1) 20”, one (1) Cruiser and one (1) Superclass category noting a rider cannot ride in both Junior Superclass and Superclass at the same event (excludes Championship categories).
- Riders are only permitted to enter one (1) Masters and one (1) Cruiser category.
- Riders entering into Championship categories (Elite and Junior Elite) can only enter into Superclass, but cannot enter into any other categories.
- Riding up is not permitted at the BMX National Championships.

Scratching:

Entered & now can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time and prior to the event will require a medical certificate submitted to events@auscycling.org.au prior to the event.

Late Entries:

Late entries will not be permitted under any circumstances for the BMX National Championships.


Eligibility

All categories are closed to international competitors and it is important to be aware of the following criteria that must be met to be eligible to compete in the National Championships:

  • Australian citizens (Australian passport holders) who hold a current AusCycling Off-Road or All Disciplines membership or a UCI licence with an Australian designation, OR;
  • Australian residents (this does not include visitors to Australia on work permits, student visas or visitor visas) providing they:
    • Have not ridden for another country in that national team in the preceding two years;
    • Have not contested the national championships of another country in the preceding two years.

Quick Reminders

  • Transponders:

    • Transponders will be used in conjunction with a finish line camera system at the BMX National Championships for all racing, excluding sprockets and mini wheelers.
    • All riders (except sprockets and mini wheelers) will need to provide their own transponder to enter this event, transponders will not be available for hire.
    • Riders must use the same transponder for all categories during the 2021 AusCycling BMX National Championships.
    • It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that the transponder is correctly fitted to their bike and is operational which includes subscription.
    • Transponders can be purchased at https://www.sqorz.com/store/p3/transponder.html#/
    • A transponder must have an active Subscription PRIOR to entering. This can be done at https://mylaps.sqorz.com/
  • Plates:

    • Each bicycle entered into the competition must have a number plate attached to the front of the handlebars.
    • This number plate will be provided by AusCycling.
    • All competitors will be provided with a competition race plate & numbers, which is the only plate to be used for the entire BMX National Championships including practice.
    • Alterations / additional stickers added to number plates are not permitted.

Event Cancellation Refunds

  • Riders will receive 100% refunds if the event is cancelled.

Consecutive Attendance

Any riders who have are attending the BMX National Championships and 2021 will be your 10th/15th/20th/25th consecutive year (please note this excludes 2020 when no event was run), please complete the online form by 11:59PM AEDT Sunday, 12 December 2021: https://forms.office.com/r/fHdicEsyFK
