Have you seen track cycling at the Olympics and wondered what it would be like to fly around a velodrome? Perhaps you’ve given it a go as part of the road novice program and would like to give it another go. Maybe you’ve heard how much fun the riders on last year’s program had.
We’re pleased to announce that Vikings will be running a 2020 women's track novice program to introduce competent road riders to riding and racing on the track.
The program will run over six weeks, taking you from being new to the track to being ready to race club nights or maybe Christmas carnivals. The sessions will will run on Saturday mornings from 3 October - 7 November at the Narrabundah velodrome and are open to all women, girls and non-binary riders. Sessions will go from 9:00-10:30am.
The sessions will allow women and girls to develop their Anna Meares-like track awesomeness in an environment supported by experienced female coaches and mentors, and tailored to women specific aspects of track cycling. Please do not be afraid to come and try track for the first time - most of the participants will be either trying it for the first time or returning after a break!
Due to the velodrome’s steep banking, only track bikes can be used. If you have a track bike, you’re welcome to use it. If not, we have a selection of club bikes for participants to use, so please provide your bike size to assist with stocking bikes.
Discounts will be available for club kit!
So we can better cater to the needs of the group, please complete the following survey. https://forms.gle/yzshvJWf43hLj52u5
