The Albany MTB club is proud to present the fourth instalment of the club summer gravity series. The gravity series is designed to introduce riders to gravity racing (Downhill and Gravity Enduro) and to provide an opportunity to practice skills for those entering the state series races. The aim is fun over competitiveness, but the racing will be timed, and prizes awarded after the completion of the final Thursday race.
A competitor’s best 4 results from the 6 races will count towards the series championship. In the event of a tie, the competitor with the best result from the final race will be deemed to place higher.
THE FORMAT:
November 27 – Pilot Trail
December 7 – Poikies Trail
December 11 – Poikies Trail
February 8 – Mt Clarence DH
February 15 – Poikies Trail
February 22 – Mt Clarence DH into Pilot Trail (NEW!) and series presentations
Each Thursday event, competitors have a 1 hour period (5.30-6.30pm) to complete a timed run down the week’s race stage. Sunday events will have a 1.5 hour period from 10.00am to 11.30am) to complete the best timed run. Competitors may complete as many timed runs as they can fit in the hour, but please be mindful of other competitors trying to complete their race runs.
No qualifying runs. All timed runs count. An individual’s fastest run will be their time for the week’s stage.
There are no set start orders. Competitors are requested to leave suitable time gap, recommended 20-30 seconds, between yourself and the competitor before you. Riders are requested to self-seed into groups of similar speed riders to speed up the process.
