The Canberra Cycling Club is proud to host the 'Cotter Uriarra' club ride.
Starting at 8 am from the upper deck of the Stromlo Forest Park Pavilion the ride will take in one of Canberra's most popular loops before finishing at the Handlebar for coffee.
The ride is social pace, and will be a clockwise loop of Cotter / Uriarra, with efforts (and stopping regroups) at Mt Macdonald and the Three Sisters.
The bunch will head south out of SFP, take the bike path past the ACT Bushfire Memorial, and then on to Sawllowtail RD and Cotter Rd. The bunch will return to SFP and the Handlebar via Uriarra Rd then Dave McInnes Rd.
Check out the route here.
The ride:
CCC members are encouraged to come along each week in their CCC club kit.
We welcome new riders to the bunch.
If you are interested in giving cycling a go then this group is for you.
Each week we will conduct a quick roll call and briefing for new riders before the ride commences.
The bunch meeting point is the upper deck of the The Pavilion at Stromlo Forst Park.
To manage our record-keeping and participation reporting we require all participants to register each week via EntryBoss.
An AusCycling Lifestyle (or better) licence is required to participate. Riders who hold other third party bicycle riding specific insurance (eg ACT Vets or Pedal Power) are welcome to attend.
If you don't hold a licence but would like to attend you can take out a free trial licence on the AusCycling website, or better yet, join the Canberra Cycling Club.
This ride takes place on open roads. As with all on-road cycling, there is a risk associated with this activity.

Remember: 'I forgot to register' or late registration are excellent reasons to bring extra coffee money. If this applies to you make sure you come up with a good excuse for why you shouldn't shout the bunch ;)
