Want to know more about the black magic material known as Carbon Fibre? How it works and how you make stuff from it?
Ever wondered:
Light refreshments will be provided.
CCC member Bill Shelley will be giving a talk about Carbon fibre, bikes and other stuff - in the amazing Workshop7 facility at the University of Canberra – Faculty of Arts and Design.
Bill has been designing, fabricating and repairing Advanced Composite products for 30 years. He runs Workshop7 for the Universities’ design students and is pleased to share his knowledge with interested parties.
In the W7 Composites Lab there will be heaps of carbon parts to play with and talk about, and Bill will perform an ‘Autopsy’ of Club President Crispy’s beloved Canyon Ultimate frame to reveal the laminate structure and repair process.
Carbon fibre has completely transformed the cycling world, so this is a rare opportunity to gain a detailed insight into the Material of the century!
