PLEASE NOTE THE TRACK WILL BE CLOSED TO BIKES FROM 9am ON MONDAY 27th NOVEMBER UNTIL OFFICIAL PRACTICE STARTS ON SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER. A track walk is recommended on Friday 1st December and self shuttling to the top is possible via Laytons Road and Tower Road. Lookout Road will be closed from Friday 1st December until Sunday 3rd December.
Wait List:
There is a capacity constraint on our events which may mean you are advised you are waitlisted at entry.
Waitlisted basically means you are waiting to see if a spot becomes available.
If a spot becomes available, you will receive an automated email notifying you of your changed status. If not, you will receive a full refund.
If you no longer want to be on the waiting list, please remove yourself as soon as possible by scratching yourself to receive a full refund. If you are upgraded from the waiting list to a provisional entry, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Camping: | Due to limited space for car parking and event village, camping will not be permitted on site on race weekend. There is plenty of affordable accommodation available in Bairnsdale, Paynesville, Eagle Point, Metung, Lakes Entrance and surrounds. Parking: | Parking on site is limited. Please follow directions given by parking marshals and car pool from town to the event wherever possible. Cars should not be parked on Bulumwaal Road but can be parked on nearby tracks ensuring enough space for other vehicles to pass. |
Catering: | Amazing food will be available on site from The Local Metung. This will include smoked BBQ meats, gourmet wood fired pizzas and egg and bacon rolls for brekky both days. Coffee will be available on site from The Perky Grind. |
Please place all rubbish in the bins provided or take home with you. | |
Dogs: | Are allowed on site but must be on lead at all times. |
Team Tents: | There is limited space on site for team tents. Email Event Manager Jake Matthews to book a site and include the size of area required in email: racing@mtbeg.com.au |
WATER | There is no water facilities onsite, please bring your own. |
Volunteers:
The VDHS is run solely by volunteers and more volunteers are needed to run the race on the day – examples include but are not limited to marshalling and driving.

Safety equipment:
A full-face helmet is mandatory, no detachable mouthpiece allowed. Helmet checks will be performed at rego.
Elbows must be covered by a jersey/shirt or elbow pads. ¾ length jerseys are acceptable.
Knees must be covered by full length trousers and/or self-fastening knee or knee/shin guards expressively designed for off-road conditions
The following equipment is mandatory at all times while on track regardless of registered category:
Full finger gloves must be worn
Full length jersey – jersey must cover elbows at all times
Knee pads and elbow pads must be worn

Antisocial behaviour towards volunteers, other riders or spectators, both at the race and on social media, will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification. Please respect and treat others how you wish to be treated.
Queues – no one likes queuing, however some queuing cannot be avoided. If you push in to any queue, you will be asked to go to the back of the queue. Further action will be taken for repeat offenders.
Self shuttling is not permitted and may result in disqualification from the race.
Mandatory practice on Sunday – you must complete one full practice run on Sunday or you will not be able to race.
Race entries are non-transferable and you may be asked for ID to confirm you are registered. Anyone caught riding under a different name will be disqualified from racing.
It takes a lot of human power to run a big successful race series.
