Join us at the Narrabundah Open Track Carnival
Vikings Cycling Club (VCC) and the Canberra Cycling Club (CCC) will be hosting the 2023 Narrabundah Open Track Carnival.
The event will be part of the NSW/ACT Country Track Series which will be bringing the best regional U19, Elite and Master trackies to compete to become the Series Champion. https://auscycling.org.au/page/202324-nswact-country-track-series
Cyclists will compete for prizes and glory and have the chance to race in Canberra at the renowned “Bundahdome”.
The carnival will be split into a Junior Carnival and a Senior Carnival
9.00am - Gates open and registration
9.30am - Track open for warm up
10.30am - Racing start
12.00pm - Registration
1.00pm - Track open for warm up
2.00pm - Racing start
Both Carnivals will include:
Graded Scratch races (Junior age categories | Seniors A/B/C/D)
1000 meter handicaps - qualifier for Wheelrace (Junior age categories | Seniors A/B/C/D)
Merv McDonald Memorial Handicap Wheelrace - Finals (Juniors)
Derek Aisbitt Memorial Wheelrace - Finals (Seniors, including a women's Final with the same prize money)
Motorpaced Graded Scratch races (Junior age categories | Seniors A/B/C/D)
Please be advised that the Narrabundah Velodrome is a steep track and participants should have experience riding similar tracks
If you are unfamiliar with this Velodrome, the track will be open for training (Saturdays) and racing (Mondays) in the weeks leading up to the event. Refer to https://entryboss.cc/calendar/vikings for more details.
The Race Director and Commissaires reserve the right to stop riders from participating if they are deemed to be a danger to themselves or others

Gear restrictions apply to all junior cyclists in events conducted under AusCycling regulations on the road and track.
The restriction is the distance one revolution of the crank arm will propel the bicycle, this is known as the ‘roll out’.
