The SKCC Summer Criterium Season is held on most Sunday mornings between October 2018 and February 2019 in South Melbourne.

Registration and the start finish is on White Street (Melways ref 2E F11). Parking is on Boundary Street, to the west of White Street.

  • Riders can pre-enter and pre-pay online using EntryBoss.
  • Pre-entries will close at 6pm on the Saturday evening before the event.
  • Pre-entries for the following Sunday’s event will open at midday the Sunday before.

07:30 E Grade (25 mins+3 laps) / Juniors A&B (15 mins+1 lap) / Fixie Crit (25mins motor pacing + 3 lap race)
08:00 A Grade Women (50 mins+3 laps) / B Grade Women (40 mins+3 laps) / C Grade Women (35 mins+3 laps)
09:00 B Grade Men (55 mins+3 laps) / D Grade Men (45 mins+3 laps)
10:15 A Grade Men (60 mins+3 laps) / C Grade Men (50 mins+3 laps)

If you want to go up or down a grade - please fill in the online grading form here and give the handicappers your reasons for doing so.

Alternatively - Email grading@skcc.com.au with a full description of your recent results, what grade you are racing, and your reason for wanting to go up or down a grade.

FAQs

Q. If I don’t get around to pre-entering can I still register and pay on the day ?
A. YES (but there is discounted pricing available for online entries. On the day pricing is dearer). By preregistering online, you will save time. Simply collect your race number on the day. No need to line up at Rego desk.

Q. If I pre-enter then can’t make it on the day, do I get a refund ?
A. Yes, if you can’t make it on the day you will receive a refund or a credit, no questions asked. You can scratch online until 6pm on Saturday via EntryBoss. You can still scratch after the event, but you must send an email to grading@skcc.com.au by 1pm the following Wednesday (ie within 3 days post race) or risk losing your refund.

Q. If it rains and my grade is cancelled, do I get a refund ?
A. Absolutely !

Q. How do I claim my race number ?
A. On the day there will be a separate race desk set up with race numbers and a start list in alphabetical order. If you have preregistered online, simply find your name, find your number, and hit the start line in time for your race briefing.

Who Can Race and What Do I Need?

Anybody can race with a current (UCI) racing licence - Cycling Australia or International. Domestic licences from a country other than Australia are not valid unless they are accompanied by a letter from the official Cycling body of the Country the licence originates from authorizing the licence holder to race outside of their Country.

The first time you race you will need to complete an online GRADING FORM.

* If entering a senior race, you must have a J15, J17, or J19 license on record with EntryBoss to receive this price.

Registration

All riders MUST show a valid licence OR proof of renewal (i.e. printout/PDF of online renewal). SKCC adopts a strict “No licence, no race” policy.

The registration desk closes five minutes before each race start time (see above).

What If I Don’t Have a Licence?

You can purchase a licence from Cycling Australia HERE A Race Starter licence option gives you 2 months unlimited racing for $50.

KOM Womens race series Details

A 3 race series
Each running the usual womens grade - WA WB and WC
Races usual lengths - eg WC 35mins +3 laps

One sprint point mid race
1st - 3 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point

Finish line sprint
1st - 4 points
2nd - 3 points
3rd - 2 points

All participants (in addition to above points) get 1 point per race

T&C’s
Normal grading applies. Riders can be promoted/demoted grades as per usual season guidelines.
If less than 5 riders per grade - only points for 1st awarded
if less than 10 riders per grade - only points for 1st and 2nd awarded.

If final series result is a tie - count back on finish line points (exclude sprint points)
