Results and times from recent or previous events (especially this one), ITT times, average speeds etc will all help. Not providing enough info will mean you are placed on or near scratch. Frank Papp was a club member who passed away in an accident while riding in 2011. Frank was the sort of bloke who made you feel like you'd known him for years, only a few minutes after meeting him and he is missed by all who knew and rode with him. Frank loved riding huge distances training for audax rides and Paris-Brest-Paris, so it's only fitting that our longest and hardest race of the year is held in his memory.

Directions - If you travel over Mt Glorious on Northbrook Parkway, turn right when you get to Wivenhoe/Somerset Rd. The start/finish location is about 1km along this road and is shown on the map as Wivenhoe Somerset Rest Area.

Eligibility - Any riders with an Auscycling Race Licence including Trial Licence holders who are U17 age division or older. Members of all clubs invited.
Juniors - Sorry U15 and younger riders are not permitted to enter due to AusCycling distance restrictions.

Race Distances - Division 1 85km (2 laps) - For riders with a Hamilton club grade of A, B , C or D (but excluding U17 riders) - Division 2 42.5km (1 lap) - For riders graded E or F plus all U17s. (AusCycling's maximum road race distance for U17s is 70km).
This is a challenging course over rolling hills heading out and back from the bottom of Mt Glorious at Dundas towards Somerset Dam.
Prizes - Cash Prizes awarded for the first 3 places and , the fastest unplaced lady, and fastest time in each division. If there are 8 or more ladies in the division then 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be paid. There is also a perpetual trophy for each division. The winners names are engraved on the trophy.
Grading and handicapping information - If you don't have a club grading you should apply separately then you will be okay for this and all other club events.
Handicap Race - This is a handicap race - not graded races. Club handicappers will allocate start times for each rider. Riders will start in small groups at various intervals with the aim of all riders having a reasonable chance to win.
Race Rules - The drafting of riders from different start times is allowed at all stages of the race. Racing is conducted under the auspices of AusCycling rules and regulations. Normal road rules apply, you must ride no more than two abreast unless passing. Do not cross solid lines, obey all road rules. Marshalls cannot stop traffic. When sprinting for the finish you must stay in the left hand lane - riders crossing the centre of the road at any time will be disqualified.
Enter ASAP - Please add any remarks in the info box when entering that may assist the handicappers determining your start time (such as names of other club members who you believe are at about the same level as yourself).
Enter as soon as possible to give our handicappers a better chance of determining fair start times...you don't want to make the handicappers angry with you if you enter late! If you need to scratch yourself after entering, please be fair to other riders and do it as early as possible.

Race Scratchings - If riders find they are unable to race after entering HWCC races, they may 'scratch' themselves up to 7pm the night before handicap races - the entry fee will be refunded. Click on the 'Scratch' button on the EntryBoss event page. Please note that there is a very small cost to the club due to unrecoverable merchant fees, whenever riders' scratch themselves.
Wet-weather Policy - A decision to cancel due to poor weather will only made by the Chief Commissaire with announcements made via the club's social pages. Generally, we race in all weather, except heavy rain or if there are sheets of water on the road surface. Any decision on cancellation will be made as early as possible.
All race entry fees will be refunded if races are cancelled.
This event will be conducted using the current guidelines or rules established by Queensland Government, the Queensland Health Officer, AIS, AusCycling Australia and AusCycling Queensland.
