Juniors - All juniors U19s and younger must have their gearing rollout checked on the footpath near the clubhouse steps BEFORE picking up their race number.
Course - The course is the Nundah Criterium Circuit (1.2km), Hedley Ave Nundah. HWCC restricts races to 60 riders per race at this course.
EntryBoss Entry - Please make sure your current AusCycling licence number is registered with EntryBoss before entering. Do not use a previous licence number. Entries are checked against AusCycling current/financial licence lists. Riders should have their digital licence ready or printed email ready to show if requested. To obtain your digital licence - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lOQwgx7wMiXIUzZ8ud5GuDWLpMjhfh1P/view
Gradings - Riders must enter according to their current HWCC grading. Should a rider wish to enter an alternate grade, an explanation should be provided in the comments section of the entry form with appropriate info such as results elsewhere. All entries are provisional until confirmed by the club handicappers.
Grading Confirmation - VERY IMPORTANT - HWCC club handicappers review all provisional entries before they are confirmed. If a rider applies to race in a grade other than their current HWCC grading, they must check the EntryBoss startlist after 7pm on the evening before race day to confirm which grade they will be starting in. Please make yourself familiar with the HWCC EntryBoss entering policy - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IaUU0m95wCTQ_O_bwgmV8YeQHzuNdd4m/view
Rider Inquiries - If club officials require pre-race information on a rider's licence or grading, every effort will be made to contact them via their EntryBoss registered email address.
Registration/Race Patches - Registration at the Nundah clubhouse begins at 6.30am and closes 10 minutes before each race start time. Riders must wear their race number patches on their right side. There is a compulsory Commissaire's briefing in the centre of the circuit before each race. Riders who miss this briefing will not be allowed to start.
Prizes - Club Championship presentations of medals/trophies/club championships jerseys will be made after racing at Nundah on Saturday 22nd October.
Club Championship notes from HWCC By-Laws - The Club Championship events are conducted in 3 events, Road Race, Time Trial and Criterium and in each of the current club grades. As such, they do not form part of the Winter Aggregate point score, but are scored on the following basis in each of the three events;- First - 10 points plus Gold Medal Second 6 - points plus Silver Medal Third - 4 points plus Bronze Medal Start - 1 point Finish - 1 point. Perform rostered duty - 2 points. Commissaire - 4 points
A special 'Champion's jersey' is awarded to the rider in each category with the highest aggregate points and who has competed in all of the three club championship events. There must be more than one rider, in each championship event, in the category for a jersey to be awarded. In the event if a tie, the winner is determined by the greater number of highest places . If a deadlock on highest places exists, then the rider with the fastest time in the ITT wins.
Women's Races - Women in each event need to claim their places to ensure the club scorers can determine the ladies champions in each grade.
Podium Presentations - First 4 riders in each grade will be presented with a podium presentation at the clubhouse. There will be separate women's podium presentations if there are 3 or more women entered in a grade. Riders/spectators are encouraged to take photos.
Results - HWCC publishes all race results on their website (usually within a day or two) - http://www.hamiltonwheelers.com/
Race Scratchings - If riders find they are unable to race after entering HWCC races, they may 'scratch' themselves up to 5am on normal race days, 3pm for Twilight races and up to 7pm the night before handicap races - the entry fee will be refunded. Click on the 'Scratch' button on the EntryBoss event page. Please note that there is a very small cost to the club due to unrecoverable merchant fees, whenever riders' scratch themselves.
Wet-weather Policy - A decision to cancel due to poor weather will be made by the Chief Commissaire with announcements via the club's social pages. Generally, we race in all weather, except heavy rain or if there are sheets of water on the road surface. Any decision on cancellation will be made as early as possible.
All race entry fees will be refunded if races are cancelled.
