EVENT DETAILS

Eligibility (RESTRICTED) - Hamiltion Wheelers members (or joint members) only may enter this event. 'Lifestyle' and 'Non-Riding' licences not accepted. Riders must have a Hamilton Wheelers grading - details - http://www.hamiltonwheelers.com/general-info/club-grading-list

Juniors - U15 and younger riders are prohibited from racing in this event as it is more than 40km (AusCycling Rules).

Course - The course is one lap around North Pine Dam (approx 45km). Rolling hills. Roads are not closed to general traffic. All Queensland road rules apply. Do not cross white lines.

Sign-on - From 6.00am to 6.40am at Tukuwompa Park, Forgans Road Warner. Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/38WiRLhhwkRNPKR28

Race Start Location - After signing on, riders must make their way to the race start location at the old Petrie Town Markets on Dayboro Road (approx 3 km away).

Race Start Time - First riders are away at 7am. Riders must be ready to start at their allotted time which will be called out by the commissaires at the start line. If you miss your start time...you'll be racing with a faster group!

Finish Line - The finish line is on Forgan Road at the sign-on location

Handicap Race - This is a handicap race - not graded races. Club handicappers will allocate start times for each rider. Riders will start in small groups at various intervals with the aim of all riders having a reasonable chance to win.

Enter in your regular grade to help with initial groupings and then please provide as much info as possible to assist with handicapping. Results and times from recent or previous events (especially this one), ITT times, average speeds etc will all help. Not providing enough info will mean you are placed on or near scratch.

Race Rules - The drafting of riders from different start times is allowed at all stages of the race. Racing is conducted under the auspices of AusCycling rules and regulations. Normal road rules apply, you must ride no more than two abreast unless passing. Do not cross solid lines, obey all road rules. Marshalls cannot stop traffic.

Enter ASAP - Please add any remarks in the info box when entering that may assist the handicappers determining your start time (such as names of other club members who you believe are at about the same level as yourself).

Enter as soon as possible to give our handicappers a better chance of determining fair start times...you don't want to make the handicappers angry with you if you enter late! If you need to scratch yourself after entering, please be fair to other riders and do it as early as possible.

EntryBoss Entry - Please make sure your current AusCycling licence number is registered with EntryBoss before entering. Do not use a previous licence number.

Licences - Riders should have their AusCycling licences available for checking. Please have your digital licence ready or printed email ready to show if required. To obtain your digital licence - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lOQwgx7wMiXIUzZ8ud5GuDWLpMjhfh1P/view

Prizes - Prizes are proportional to entry numbers and awarded to the first 3 places + fastest time + first unplaced female.

Race Scratchings - If riders find they are unable to race after entering they may 'scratch' themselves up to 7pm the night before for handicaps (or up to 5am on normal race days, 3pm for Twilight races) and their entry fee will be refunded. Click on the 'Scratch' button on the EntryBoss event page. Please note that there is a very small cost to the club due to unrecoverable merchant fees, whenever riders' scratch themselves.

Wet-weather Policy - A decision to cancel due to poor weather will only made by the Chief Commissaire with announcements made via the club's social pages. Generally, we race in all weather, except heavy rain or if there are sheets of water on the road surface. Any decision on cancellation will be made as early as possible.

All race entry fees will be refunded if races are cancelled.

COVID-19 POLICY

This event will be conducted using the current guidelines or rules established by Queensland Government, the Queensland Health Officer, AIS, AusCycling Australia and AusCycling Queensland.
