Handicapping - please read!

Please provide the handicapper with useful information such as where you think you sit within your grade, who else is at a similar level (this is probably the most useful), how you fared in recent races, especially in handicaps. What was the race, which club, what was your handicap mark (minutes from scratch eg '21 minute group'). If this is your first road race please provide information such as Strava and/or Zwift profile, FTP in w/kg, average speed in a hard group ride (hilly or flat?), best effort on a major climb eg 1 in 20, best effort in a TT/triathlon bike leg/gran fondo. Do your best and we will try to make it as fair as possible. We may ask for more information. 'This is my first race' is not sufficient!

Other

  • Race numbers and transponders - bring your Northern Combine permanent number and transponder if you have them, otherwise they will be assigned

  • Concierge service for new racers - make yourself known at the rego desk.

  • Red light policy as per AusCycling Vic - on steady mode, leave room for your transponder behind the seat post (see pic below)

  • WATER - Please note the water available at the rego location is not suitable for drinking. Please fill your water bottles at home. Limited delicious Melbourne water will be available on site. Potable water is available at Newham Primary School.

  • In the event of a CODE RED fire danger rating day, the reserve will be closed and the race will be cancelled/postponed. An extreme weather policy will apply on other high fire danger days (race may be cancelled at the discretion of the organisers).

  • All live results are provisional until confirmed by Commissaires.

Special Notice re Transponder Mounting

  • Please note: if you have a race number mount fitted to your bike, our experience is many of these break or have the transponder rotate into the wheel. We ask that you please mount as instructed. If your seat-post is too short, please use the rails under your seat or ask for help.
