Peg this one in your calendar, this is the first time Townsville has had the opportunity to show off the gnarl of downhill racing on the Castle hill (Westies) DH trail.

The trail overlooks Rowes bay, Magnetic Island and the Strand before it ricochets down the steep and rugged faces of castle hill.

$1000 first prize for M/F Elite.

Revel in the aftermath at the Tiny Mountain Brewery.

You must have a valid day licence or race licence for the day.

MTBA to AusCycling:
If your MTBA licence has expired and you have a new AusCycling licence, use your new AusCycling number, you may have to change your profile.

Scratching

Entered & can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time are at the discretion of the event organisers and may require a medical certificate.

3.4 Clothing Requirements General Clothing requirements

For gravity disciplines, MTBA strongly recommends that riders wear the following protection:

• Full faced helmet;
• back, elbow, knee and shoulder protectors made of rigid materials;
• protection for the nape of the neck and the cervical vertebrae;
• padding on shins and thighs;
• broad full-length trousers made from rip-resistant material incorporating protection for the knees and calves, or broad-cut shorts made from rip-resistant material plus knee and calf protectors with a rigid surface;
• long sleeved shirt;
• full finger gloves.

Event Cancellations

• Riders will receive 100% refunds if the event is cancelled.
• We will do our best to communicate our intentions early if the event is at risk of not proceeding.
