Wombat Classic 2017

The Wombat Classic is a Cross Country Marathon style event conducted in the Wombat State Forest outside of Woodend, approx 1 hr drive from Melbourne. The course is approximately 50km in length and takes in all of the best single track in the Wombat State Forest. The course is nearly all single track so it's sure to be a challenging ride.

Race Fees

• Entry $50
• Entry is free for Junior Categories.

Entrant numbers will be capped to avoid track congestion and help provide an enjoyable riding experience. The start has also been modified from last year to help spread the field.

There will be no on the day entries.

Licensing

• Race License: To ride in the Wombat Classic participants will need to hold a Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) Race License or purchase a day license. Please include your MTBA member number when you register.

• Day licenses: - will be available on site, cash only, please bring exact money.

• MTBA Free trial license: If you're not a member of MTBA, no worries. We recommend you take up the MTBA free 8 week trial membership (http://www.mtba.asn.au/membership/free-trial-membership/). Yes, it is free and the only requirement is that you haven't been a MTBA member in the last three years. But wait, don't rush out and do it now. It's only valid for 8 weeks so put it in your diary and do it at the beginning of February so you're covered for the big event.

If you're not a MTBA member or not eligible for the MTBA trial membership you will be required to purchase a MTBA day license for the big event. If you can't provide proof of your MTBA membership - MTBA card or digital membership card - at registration you will be required to purchase a day license.

Race Schedule:

What time do I need to be there? Where do I collect my race number?

• Start Time 10:30am
• Number Plate collection will be from 7:30am to 9:30am.
  
• Compulsory race briefing will be at 10:15am with immediate start afterwards. Come to the race briefing ready to race.

A Race Info pack with all the race details will be emailed to entrants in the lead-up to the event.

FAQ

• Does everyone start together? No, categories will be sent off in waves
• Age Restrictions? 15 years & over for the big race. NOTE:Under no Circumstances do we allow U15 Year old riders to participate, NO Exceptions
• Do I really need a license? Yes, everyone will need a License (or Day License) for insurance purposes.
