June 7 2026 Is The First GCMTB Hosted Race Of The Year

It’s The Big Four Because There’s Four Events On The One Day, All At Nerang National Park.

1. The 4 hour race!	Includes Solo and Team categories. Lap length is 10.5km, most laps before midday wins! The race start will consist of a Le Mans start and short tack loop before starting the main loop and then repeating until time runs out or you can’t go on.
2. The hot lap.	One lap, flat out. Solo riders only with a self-seeded traditional mass start.
3. The Groms race.	Under 13’s only, solo riders on a shortened course approximately 7.5km long.
4. The Pressure’s off.	Under 11’s only, solo riders on a 3.5km course perfect for first timers and little legends to race.

Entries are limited to the first 150 registrations.

Courses

The 4 hour and hot lap share the same 10.5km course consisting of 20% fire road and 80% single track with 254m of climbing per lap.

The Other Fun Stuff!

Podiums

Place getters for all distances and categories will be called to the podium as per the Race Schedule. Other awards include King of the mountain, Downhill demon, The Next President, Selfless Saints and Maglia Nera.

Kids MTB Fun Zone

As part of the kids entry, they may enter the kids fun area with 2 coaches on site. This will open shortly after the start of the 4hr race.

Nourishment

Location And Getting There

The 2026 GCMTB Nerang Big Four is being held at Nerang National Park on the Gold Coast. Enter the cycle centre via Hope st.

Parking is available along Hope st, Lawson st and Steven st, as well as the carpark in Price st. Please avoid parking in the residential streets.

Race Schedule

Time	Activity
6:30	Set up track & registration opens.
6:45	Track open for practice – No timing chips please.
7:40	Registrations closes for all 4 hr riders.
7:45	Track closed for practice.
7:45	Rider briefing for all 4 Hour riders.
8:00	Start for all 4-hour riders. Le Mans start with short track loop before entering main loop. Riders will have bike lined up next to the track and will have to run/walk to bike from starting point (100m).
11: 00	Registrations close for 1 lap riders.
11: 15	Rider briefing for all 1 lap and 7.5km riders
11: 35	Mass start for all 1 lap riders. Riders to self-seed with fastest riders at the front of the start grid. Start time may vary as last 4hr rider will have to have passed check point 2 to give 1 lap riders a clear run.
11: 45	Mass start 7.5km course Start time may vary as last 1 lap rider will have to have passed check point 2 to give 7.5km riders a clear run.
12: 00	3.5km Course briefing and group roll out to start point in forest.
12: 15	Wave starts for age categories. This Parents racing time to join children on their ride if they wish. Start time may vary as last 4hr rider will have to have passed check point 4 to give 3.5km course lap riders a clear run.
12: 45	Track officially closed and presentations begin

Licensing

Cancellations

In the event of wet weather the race may be postponed.
If it’s clearly going to be too wet because of something crazy like one of Alfred’s mates
turning up we will make the call by 9pm on Friday 05 June 2026.
If it’s all going to plan and there’s a sudden weather change then we will call it by 2pm on Saturday 06 June 2026.
A full refund will be offered for those unable to attend the re-scheduled event.
