Mudgee Region Mountain Bike Club is pleased to be hosting Round 1 of the 2024 NSW Central West XC Mountain Bike Inter-club Race Series at the Mudgee Common Mountain Bike Trails,
The event take place at the Mudgee Common Mountain Bike Trails.
While racing in the common you’ll be sharing the area with an endangered plant Swainsona recta, commonly known as the Small Purple-pea. The pea may be flowering during this year’s event. MRMTB have made every effort to keep the tracks used away from the pea sensitive areas and to demarcate any pea areas found around the course.
We need competitors to stick to the trails as much as possible. As this is our first event there’ll be a lot of eyes on us. Any course cutting or corner straightening will make it much more difficult for us to hold events in the future. Please just stick to the tracks.
Competitors will be required to sign an acknowledgement that MRMTB has made them aware of the ecological significance of the Mudgee Common.
We are unable to park cars inside the common so this makes running the traditional pit situation you’re used to at XC inter-clubs impossible. To run the event in a sustainable way we’ll set up a pit area just outside the common gate. Access to this pit area will be controlled to allow residents to come and go as freely as possible. We’ll open the pit area at 7am. There’ll be no parking except for approved vehicles on the common road. Competitors and spectators are asked to park on Bellevue Road (after dropping off gear to pits) and take a short ride/walk to the pit area. To smooth out this process we ask that competitors arrive a bit earlier than usual, and be patient, and to please, where possible, load more than one competitors gear into the cars coming up the common rd to drop off equipment to the pits.
There are 100 camping sites available at Mudgee Showground. Bookings are not accepted - simply choose a site when you arrive.

This will be the first event MRMTB has run so bear with us. We hope to run many more. To achieve this we’ll need all competitors to keep to the tracks. Deliberate course cutting, aka Strava lines, will make it much harder for us to run events in the future. There’ll be a lot of eyes on this race.
With your cooperation we think you’ll have a blast racing the Mudgee common. Hopefully with a bit of work we’ll be able to bring both Mudgee and Clandulla events to inter-clubs next year.
