Ya my name is Nipaluna*, the homelands of the Muwinina from the beginnings of time. Always was and always will be. I'm cared for by the Palawa people in the present day. My nicked name is Hobart. It's stuck for now but people are learning my original name and some of my history. Lean in, there's power in that knowledge. Fierce, strong, resilient.

People say I'm cold, the arse end of the world, but they don't quite know the real me. It's a secret kept and revealed in time. If you're here for a short visit, welcome. I can't promise what I'll be like on the day so come prepared for anything. I can guarantee you'll have to work to climb my hills and those of my kunanyi. My sacred place; where the wild things are. Forested, green over green, clear clean mountain streams, glorious views. Take your time, take it in, chat to friends. Go home changed, yearning to return.

We have partnered with legendary local artist Tom O'Hern to bring you the designs for this event and Sendy Gear from the Snowy Mountains to bring you some pretty unique gloves featuring Tom's work. All entries include one pair of gloves but you can also buy additional pairs.

What if I don't have a single speed or I'm concerned about the hills?

This event is all about the fun of participation. Bring the bike you have and if you want to try single speeding we can help you assimilate. Or just ride with us and have a good time.

Entry Fees (includes 1 pair of gloves and other schwag)

Participants will need to provide evidence of Cycling Australia membership or day licence when collecting your registration pack in Hobart. Also available is the 1 month free trial if you have not held Cycling Australia membership in the last 3 years.

Glove sizing

Glove sizing runs slightly tight, so if you are unsure or between sizes we'd recommend sizing up. They are made of a tougher fabric that does stretch a little, but not heaps.
