Based in some of the most beautiful country the Eyre Peninsula has to offer, on a combination of the most technical but flowing sections of trail we could find, the Wild Dog mountain bike race in Whyalla, South Australia, is one for your calendar.
The Sunday 3hr Wild Dog Enduro offers three different length events and includes the Long Course (11.5km), Short Course (8.5km) and Kids (1.5km). Race as hard or as easy as you like. No new laps can start after the 3 hour limit. Seasoned riders will grind and race all day however feel free to take your time, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the unique outback scenery.
Includes short punchy technical climbs, steep unhinged shrub lined rocky descents, flowing down hill single track switch backs and cruisy 4wd access roads. The 11.5km loop is challenging enough for the most experienced rider but accessible and short enough for the novice. How many laps can you complete within the 3 hour time limit?
Included for the confident junior or adult who would prefer a shorter 8.5km loop. The course includes a couple of big character building climbs that are rewarded with nice long rolling down hill runs and the occasional jump to keep it fun.
They have 30 mins to loop around the 1.5km kids course. They get a race number plate like the adults and a fully marked course with heaps of surprises. Recommended for ages 3-12.
