Two days of pre-Christmas track cycling action at the Darebin International Velodrome deciding the Omnium National titles and the Para-cycling track titles for 2017.
Omnium - pits riders against each other in a test of speed and endurance over four mass start events. Four national titles will be decided in the men's and women's elite and under 19 categories
Omnium Events: - Scratch race, Tempo Ronde, Elimination race and Points Race (40km for men and 25km for women).
Scoring: The winner of each event will be awarded 40 points for a win, 38 for second, 36 for third and working its way down to 21st. Riders in 21st place and below will be awarded one point each.
The riders' overall points tally is then taken into the final round points race and added to, or subtracted from (should they lose a lap).
The rider who finishes the points race with the highest points tally will be awarded the gold medal.
Para-cycling Events: - will feature Championships in the Individual Time Trial and Individual Pursuit; plus the Tandem Time Trial, Pursuit and Sprint.
