Course Info

START OF THE RACE - SENIOR AND FEMALE RACE - BLUE LAKE BMX CLUB, MILLARD STREET, MT GAMBIER. JUNIOR RACE WILL START AT MOORAK SCHOOL ON YELLS ROAD AT 8.00 AM.

Men's Course

The 100 Mile Classic starts at the Mount Gambier BMX Club on Millard Street at 10am. From there the riders proceed along White Avenue & Benara Road/Carpenter Rocks Road until a left hand turn at Neechy Flat Road which becomes Aslins Road into Kongorong and veer right into Perkins Road and then left into Nene Valley Road. Riders take a left turn into Shepherds Lane which continues into Mount Salt Road and then riders turn left at Riddoch Highway. The course turns left into Grant Avenue and then left into Carpenter Rocks Road for the second circuit. Riders continue along Carpenter Rocks Road until a left turn at Dixons Road into Kongorong, onto School Road and take a left turn at Mount Salt Road and continue until a left turn at Riddoch Highway which takes the riders to a left turn at Grant Avenue to begin the third circuit which is the same as the second circuit. At the end of the third circuit riders will continue onto Bay Road to the finish near the police station at approximately 2.30pm.

Women's Course

The Women's 110km Classic starts at the Mount Gambier BMX Club on Millard Street at 10:45am. From there the riders proceed along White Avenue & Benara Road/Carpenter Rocks Road until a left hand turn at Neechy Flat Road which becomes Aslins Road into Kongorong and veer right into Perkins Road and then left into Nene Valley Road. Riders take a left turn into Shepherds Lane which continues into Mount Salt Road and then riders turn left at Riddoch Highway. Junior Classic Course

A 9.5 km lap on fully bitumen road surface - graded scratch race.

Start time for juniors - 8:00am. Sign on at 7.00am (roll out to be checked).

Under 11 - 1 lap (must be chaperoned). Under 13 - 2 laps (must be chaperoned). Under 15 - 4 laps. Under 17 - 4 laps.

General Course Notes:

• Riders are to be at the start line 5 minutes before their start time.
• Official Feed Station (Male Senior Course) - at 60km (Grant Avenue approximately) and 110km (Grant Avenue-approximately).
• Female course - only one feed station at 60km (Grant Avenue approximately).
• Riders to supply own food and drinks.
• SAPOL and The Mount Gambier Cycling Club request that there be no follow cars for this unsupported event. Penalties may apply to riders if not adhered to.

RIDERS DROPPED FROM SCRATCH GROUP BEFORE THE SECOND GRANT AVENUE FEED STATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE THE COURSE AS A DNF.

Presentations

• Presentations will be held at City Hall. Enter via Cave Gardens from 5.00pm for a 5.30pm start. RSL Bar Staff will be in attendance.

• Scratching: - Scratching is a self serve, automated refund via EntryBoss if withdrawing within scratching cut off.

When Entering

• You will be asked for your regular scratch grade and some handicapping comments.
  
• Providing your regular grade helps riders self-select into similar abilities.
  
• The handicappers review all nominations and determine your start group and mark after considering the mix of all other event entrants.
  
• ALL NUMBERS TO BE COLLECTED EITHER FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY MORNING. NO SIGN ON WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY AT THE BLUE LAKE UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE (please contact Tina Opperman 0439806991).

• Junior Rider Sign-on:- Saturday 16 May at Moorak School (Yells Road) from 7.00am.

Race Day Reminders

• No Licence, No Race - riders need a current licence (or proof of renewal) to race. AusCycling licences only.
• Red Light Policy applies - please bring a suitable light and display in flashing mode.

Prize Money

Over $18,000 in prizes across the weekend. Should you not collect or organise collection of prizes they may be forfeited back to MGCC.
