Outline

The Central Queensland Cross-Country Olympic Series, sponsored by Trek Rockhampton, continues with Round 3, to be held for the first time at Central Highlands MTB Club Trails near Tolmies, hosted by Central Highlands Mountain Bike Club Incorporated.

Remember that this year we are awarding points to category place winners in each of the four rounds, with CQ XCO Season Champions to be crowned at our End of Year Function, so you can't afford to miss this race!

Enter now as entries close at Midnight Thursday 04 September 2025.

No late entries - No exceptions - No correspondence will be entered into (which means don't expect an answer if you ask)

Overnight camping with toilets and hot showers will be available at the trails, so you can stay for the Father's Day Social Ride at 7:30am on Sunday morning!

Ages

• Age is defined as at 31 December 2025.
• AusCycling Junior Policy MTB Maximum Race Duration Age Restrictions apply and cannot be waived by Rocky MTB Club, so please don't ask us to "bend" the rules!

Race Schedule

• Entries close Midnight Thursday 04 September 2025
• Plate allocation commences 11:30am
• Practice 11:30am to 12:30pm only for registered riders issued with a race plate
• Junior Rider Briefing:12:45pm
• Junior Start Time 1pm
• Junior Podium Presentations 2:30pm
• Senior Rider Briefing 2:45pm
• Senior Start Time 3pm
• Senior Podium Presentations 4:30pm
• Event Finish Time 5pm

Rules

• This event is conducted in accordance with AusCycling Policies and Rules.
• An AusCycling Race Membership (Off Road or All Discipline) or Event Licence is mandatory.
• Attendance at the Rider Briefing is compulsory to race.
• Riders stopping to assist injured riders will have their lap time(s) adjusted accordingly.
• Communicate and be courteous: overtake only when it is safe to do so and give way to overtaking riders.
• Riders must comply with any additional rules advised during the Rider Briefing.
• Fastest time for completing the race wins each category.

Event Cancellation

If the event has to be cancelled due to extreme weather, a notification will be posted on the Rocky MTB Club Facebook page.

Location

• Central Highlands MTB Trails, Capricorn Highway, 21km east of Blackwater or 14km west of Comet.

• The entry to the trails from Capricorn Highway will be flagged.
• Proceed about 150m then follow the signs to turn left before the railway and continue east to the carpark and camping area.
• Do not attempt to enter the trails from any other point.

Venue Rules

• Care for the natural environment.
• Remove all rubbish, including Race Plate cable ties.
• Respect the land owners.
• Part of the course is on a private cattle property.

Prizes

• Category place winners will receive a Race Certificate.
• You will also have the glory of mounting the podium and being immortalised via social media.
• Trek Rockhampton will hold a random prize draw after each race.
