Scratching:
Entered & can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time are at the discretion of the event organisers and may require a medical certificate.

Race Schedule

Day before:

Plate Collection Friday 31st October Trailhead 5pm-6pm

Day of event:

Check in - at a timing tent Positioned at the Ring Road Junction

Timing start - Start timer - At the junction of Pipeline/Wobbegong Start gate.

Timing finish - Exit of Pipeline merge with bypass-link track.

Racing starts from 07:30 am

Elite to Adult categories to Junior to Social. (check start list at registration /plate pickup)

Racing concludes at 10 am Presentation and Club awards to follow with BBQ at the Trailhead. So please hang around.

Information

*Plate collection - registration - will be the day before at the Trail Head

*Parking on the race day - can be accessed by Crankworx site - World cup bridge

*Time Trial start check in tent - based ring road wobbegong entrance.

*Presentations : Clubhouse at the Trailhead - located on McGregor road BBQ drinks and presentations to follow so get your crew to come cheer & join us for a party.

Note - If you want to race in the early hours for elite category and think you're a chance for Pipeline KOM/ QOM please submit your Strava times to president@cairnsmtb.com prior to October 30th - or join the Cairns Mountain Bike Club Strava Group so your recent times are easy to find.

This will mean you can be seeded accordingly so you won't likely catch anyone or be caught.  Riders will be allowed 1-2 minute gaps between riders.  Submit a time and you'll receive your time to start your time trial and know what time to warm up/ arrive by the evening of your plate collection. 

The event may kick off anytime from 7:30am Saturday depending on numbers - so that we can all beat the heat.

Marshalls will be required on course EARLY ! - if you're racing - try bringing a volunteer / cheer squad and nominate them early.

Race categories

Categories :

Junior (U13-U17) - male / female

Adult (U19+) - male / female

Social (non competitive)

Seeding - Elites - or those competing - will be based on prior strava times *if submitted on time Seeding for everyone else - random (or age appropriate)

Juniors U13 will only be able to race the Down and will be running like an enduro format - (timed descent only)

Social category - will put a timing plate on - but this is for your own interest (ie: not playing for keeps or for KOMs) - if you're not concerned if someone catches you or you catch someone else - just pop your name in here - so that you can be timed without the pressure.

Event Cancellations

• Riders will receive 100% refunds if the event is cancelled.
• We will do our best to communicate our intentions early if the event is at risk of not proceeding.
