About

This is a 4 hour pony express style MTB event, the aim is to get everyone out and celebrate all the fun of Cairns MTB community - so gather up your teams of 4 - if you can't make 4 don't worry we will put you in a team.

We are not playing for keeps, just bragging rights. The list of local supporters is long so instead of fastest laps prizes will be going to all sorts of random lucky draws, novelty laps (so e-bikers and DH be prepared) but most of all to the best SUPER dressed teams.

If you don't have a Race-Off Road License PLEASE upgrade by ticking YES to a one day license on the entry form when you enter.

Scratching:
Entered & can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time are at the discretion of the event organisers and may require a medical certificate.

A course that’s not too technical, but enough to test you in the dark after 4 hours. Sunset is at 6:30 so night lappers MUST have suitable lights

All laps must be completed by the time limits.

Age limits apply / Riders Under 11 are wanting to enter - they must ride with an accompanying adult, For junior juniors there'll be heaps of fun & games still so bring all the bikes!! The CWX pump track and jigsaw jumps zone should keep them occupied.

Juniors U18 - as with all of our events - must attend with a parent on site.

Event Site

Event site is at the JCU Crankworx site alongside the Pump track
Pony Express Start/ Finish Zone will be set along the straight and tent zone will be all run from there the lights will be on the pump track and BBQ running throughout the event so even if you not racing bring the family out to ride the pump track have a snag and drink

Bring your Marquee/ chairs and Lights & setup in our event zone. Camp lights and spare floodlights recommended.

Event will run from 4pm till 8pm, so the last few laps will be getting dark is sunset is at 6:30

REGISTRATION INFO

Register as an individual rider - First one to register for your team will enter the Team Name, once there are names in there a drop down for other teamnames will be available. No need to register all at the same time. We will sort the teams prior to racing - and if you don't have a full team - we can put you in one.

Course Description:

Starting from Crankworx pump track - ride along flat to gully beside World cup bridge, Ride along ring road to Wobbegong entry Complete Wobbegong trail then exit out onto the road again - continue up ring road to Stumpies - plenty of passing area here Follow coned area through old club site across through to flat snake creek At the end of flat snake go up red belly climb to refreshed green bowhunters then onto Exit into Crocodile creek into Greenfields straight through to the fastest way to the finish out at the Crankworx pump track
