Cycling Victoria and the Alpine Cycling Club are excited to announce entry details for the most popular event on the Victorian Cycling Calendar - the Bright Brewery Tour of Bright (November 30-December 2, 2018)

Final Event of the 2018 Towards Zero Victorian Road Series - #VRS18


ENTRY PROCESS (Please read carefully or you may be waitlisted)

Wave 1: Monday October 8 from 12 noon
The following riders will be eligible to enter in Wave 1:

  • Men’s/Masters/Women’s A grade VRS/NRS teams and team riders. All team riders need to enter via the team link even if they pay for their own entry Click here for the Team Entry listing.
  • Individual riders (of all grades) who have competed in a minimum of 2 VRS events* in 2018. Riders must nominate the events they competed in within the 'Entry remarks'. Failure to do so will result in the rider being waitlisted.

*Eligible races: Tour of East Gippsland, Mansfield Tour, Baw Baw Classic, Fred Icke, Tour of the South West, Sam Miranda Road Races.

Entries for Wave 1 close at midnight on Sunday October 14, 2018.

NB: Riders eligible for wave 1 who miss the entry cut-off will NOT be given priority during wave 2.

Wave 2: Opens Monday October 15, 2018, from 12 noon.

Entries will open for riders who don't qualify for wave 1 but were entered in the 2017 Tour of Bright. Once the cap of 100 riders in a grade has been filled, this grade will sell out. Riders will then be waitlisted but will have priority over waitlisted riders of wave 3.

Entries for Wave 2 close at midnight on Sunday October 21, 2018 or earlier if sold out.

NB: Riders eligible for wave 2 who miss the entry cut-off will NOT be given priority during wave 3.

Wave 3: Opens Monday October 22, 2018, from 12 noon.
Entries will open for everyone else on a first-come, first-served policy. Once the cap of 100 riders in a grade has been filled, this grade will sell out. Riders will then be waitlisted.

Entries for Wave 3 close at midnight on Sunday November 25, 2018 or earlier if sold out.


HOW DO I KNOW MY ENTRY IS CONFIRMED?

'Provisionally entered' = Automatic status of a rider after entering. The entry is not confirmed at this stage.

'Entered' = The entry of the rider has been officially reviewed and confirmed.

'Waitlisted' = Automatic status after entering a grade that is close to or at its full capacity or status of riders who enter without a valid membership. Please contact Cycling Victoria for assistance.

'Doubtful' = Riders will most likely not be able to get into their requested grade.

Riders who are listed as waitlisted or doubtful may contact CV and ask to ride in a higher grade instead.


SCRATCHING

Riders will be able to scratch with a full refund by logging into their Entryboss account. in order to give waitlisted riders a chance to have their entry confirmed the scratching cut-off will end 3 weeks prior to the event at midnight on November 11. Riders who wish to scratch after the cut-off will need to provide CV with a medical certificate to receive a full refund.


RIDER AND LICENCE CATEGORIES

As for all State level events riders must hold a (full) RACE membership with Cycling Australia. One day memberships and 3 race licences will not be accepted.

Male riders of masters age wishing to compete in one of the Elite grades must hold an ELITE race membership when they enter.

*Please note second-year J17 riders are eligible to enter C grade only. Riders who wish to race in a B grade may get a start if they provide CV with a supporting letter from their coach

STAGE DETAILS

Stage 1: - Friday Afternoon: 13.5km Individual Time Trial (Old Porepunkah Rd).
Stage 2: - Saturday Morning: Gaps Loop Road Stage approx 91km for all grades except A Grade Men which is 131km.
Stage 3: - Sunday Morning: Mt Hotham ascent 58km.
