Event Information

Come for the Spectacle of Pump Track Racing or just join in the open day, ride with your mates, check out the dual slalom and spectacle of all of the local emerging talent.

All Riders must have proof of current 2022 Auscycling membership for insurance - Please show your Tidy HQ card to Officials on the day of the race at Race Plate collection /Pickup. If no membership Minimum requirements Auscycling Day licence- tick the box in registration below

Scratching:
Entered & can't make it? An automated refund is available using the EntryBoss' Scratching mechanism. Please note the scratching cut-off because non-attendance refunds after this time are at the discretion of the event organisers and may require a medical certificate.

Course Description:

Cairns Crankworx Pump Track / Smithfield MTB Park

Race Format:

Pump track is a competition where two competitors race simultaneously side by side around two course 26inch wheel min for adults.
Recommended Gloves, Knee and Elbow Protection and full face helmet.
Because there may be differences between the courses although side by side- repeat sessions on the alternate course will be timed for race time. Each competitor races on both sides of the course for an aggregate total time.

Timing/Results:

Juniors Race for Time
Adult Categories race for time to announce a final ladder of top 4
4 vs 3 and 2 vs 1 in deciding battles for the pump track podiums.

Execution of a Pump Track

Each heat between two competitors consists of two runs, the two competitors change courses for the second run.

a) All competitors are required to do one run on each course. Times are then totaled together for their qualifications ranking.
b) In the event of a tie, the competitor with the faster time from their second run will be ranked higher.
c) In the event of the finals being canceled results will be based on qualifying runs.

Schedule:

• Self Practice Prior to 3pm (Track closed for timing after this)
  
• Race Plate Collection and Registration opens at 3:30 - 5:30pm
  
• Junior Racing starts from 4pm (rego closes 3:45 - rider briefing 3:50)
  
• Adults from 6pm (rego closes 5:45 - rider briefing 5:50)
  

BBQ and Drinks from 5pm- 8pm (or until sold out) $$ BRING YOUR CASH $$

Event Cancellations

• Riders will receive 100% refunds if the event is cancelled.
• We will do our best to communicate our intentions early if the event is at risk of not proceeding.
