Carts Christmas Crits is a special round of racing. Every year we race in Mark's honour.

It's not only a fantastic night for racing but also a great opportunity for friends, family and clubmates to get together. So bring a picnic blanket and a few drinks and celebrate the biggest night of racing in Canberra.

This year we've organised:

  • Another Epic Women’s Series round
  • CCC is shouting catering for all registered participants. Your race rego includes food and a non-alcoholic drink provided by the legends from Alivio Tourist Park (see below for details)
  • Thanks to the Handlebar and BentSpoke, each finisher will get a cold drink
  • Awesome prizemoney and prizes across the grades (see below)
  • A surprise visit from Santa
  • Christmas pudding for grade winners thanks to the Bakehouse Ainslie
  • Prizes from our sponsors and supporters Crankys and Tufo (see below)

Prizes

Thanks to the Boorer family, Light House Architecture & Science, and BentSpoke we will again be able to offer significant cash prizes for Men's and Women's A grade.

Cranky's Bicycle Worx and Tufo Tyres will provide prizes for the other grades' primes.

The Bakehouse Ainslie is again providing Christmas puddings for all grade podiums.

Alivio Tourist Park will be giving away a 4-night stay in a brand-new luxury Boronia Villa (sleeps 4). This includes an Alivio welcome hamper, drinks on arrival, breakfast every day, and a dinner for 4 at the Verandah. Some Ts & Cs apply. This will be by lucky draw. Just enter and race to be in with a chance of winning.

Winning Position will be giving away a Bike Fit session. This will be by lucky draw. Just enter and race to be in with a chance of winning.

The Handlebar and BentSpoke are working together to provide participants with a cold drink after they race.

Women's Series Round 4

The Summer Women's Series is an 8-part series to provide a platform for women to race against other women. As a club, we realise that there are complexities surrounding female participation and the intention of this series is to encourage more of the talented women we have here in Canberra to race & participate. With varying feedback over the years, we recognise that there are benefits to mixing the grades and separating them.

We will run two grades during each Women's round: Women's A/B, and Women's C/D.

Women's Series Registration

To participate in the Women's series just register and select the normal open grade you would race. You will be entered into that grade like normal, and automatically entered into the Women's Series race.

Riders can then choose to race the normal round, the women's series race, or both! All for the same entry fee. Just register, show up with your Season Number correctly attached, and we'll do the rest.

Event Information

Full race information, including a Crit Calendar you can print, is on the Summer Crits page on our website. Read this before you register!

Entries will open 9.00 am Thursday the week before each race and close (entries and scratching) 2pm the Wednesday of the race.

Registration

STRICTLY NO ‘AT THE RACE’ OR LATE REGISTRATIONS

To manage our COVID record-keeping and participation reporting we require all participants (including juniors in the JW and HC grades) to register each week via EntryBoss.

Season pass holders are automatically entered into each race.

BYE WEEKS

If your grade has a bye week do not register for another grade. We will scratch you. Instead, come out and watch the action, or better yet sign on to volunteer that week!

Grade Changes

If you would like to request a grade change first read the information on the Crit Info Page.

When you are ready to request a grade change approach our club handicapper Nathan de Tourettes immediately after your race on a Wednesday evening to start the discussion OR email him at handicapper@canberracyclingclub.org.au.

You will not be able to request a grade change on the Wednesday at or before your race. This is to ensure safe and fair racing and to ease the administrative burden on our volunteers.

After each 5 week block of racing the CCC handicapping committee will meet and determine if any riders need to be moved to a new grade. This may include riders who have not won a race, but who have consistently placed well.

All grade changes will be published in our newsletter and socials.

On the Day

Only visit the rego desk if you need to collect or return a number pack.

  1. There is no physical ‘check-in’ or ‘sign on’ as with previous years.
  2. No on the day grade changes
  3. Using your phone, check the ‘live check-in' list on my.raceresult.com to see that your tag is working and that you have been automatically ‘checked-in’.
  4. A rider briefing, count and roll call will be conducted before each grade roll away. Please be ready when your grade is called.
  5. At the end of each grade riders must return their number pack (if required) and then clear the start/finish line area and maintain social distancing requirements.
