Great, dirt crits are for you.
Dirt crits are kids & novice friendly, but also offering enough challenge for experienced riders to ping against the rev limiter. We hope that the 2020/21 CORC Dirt Crits will be held on most Thursday afternoons from 8th October 2020 to 4th March 2021, although from previous years we anticipate that around 6 events will be cancelled due to inclement weather, heat waves or lack of organisers. To calculate overall results we count your best roughly 75% of races, according to the formula in our results sheet (available after round 1).
Due to the unusual situation this year, all entries must be pre-entered to ensure we comply with COVID restrictions. We will open up entries in blocks of 5 races to ensure that we remain current with any restrictions.
For the Dirt Crit series, all participants must be MTBA members. This includes all juniors. MTBA membership ensures all riders are covered for personal accident and public liability insurance (including when not at Dirt Crits). MTBA does have an eight week free trial which allows members to experience MTBA membership. Details of the MTBA free eight week trial can be found at: http://www.mtba.asn.au/membership/free-trial-membership/
The CORC Dirt Crits are broken into six categories as follows:
A/B grade = normally 5 or 6 laps long course: This year this will be a handicap race with riders starting at allocated times according to previous results. Fastest riders leave last.
C/D grade = normally 3 or 4 laps long course: This year this will be a handicap race with riders starting at allocated times according to previous results. Fastest riders leave last.
E grade = normally 1 lap long course or modified short course, suited to novice juniors or younger more experienced juniors looking for a challenge.
F grade = 2 laps short course
Number of laps may be changed to suit course lengths. Anyone can enter any category. However, each participant can only race one category. The organisers reserve the right to request riders to change categories.
A rider’s best 12 results count towards their season score using the following point system:
Result Points 1st 20 2nd 17 3rd 14 4th 12 5th 10 6th 8 7 th 6 8 th 5 9 th 4 10 th 3 All finishers 2 As with last year, riders will be called up to the start line before each race. The order of call up will be based on current running point scores, and handicap for the A/B and C/D grades.
$5 per race, with $15 capped pricing for the entire series. Just enter and pay, and once you hit the price cap for the series, your races are free. Easy.
This entry covers very Thursday Night for 5 weeks from Oct 8th

Volunteer. We love all and any help. Set-up & pack down is super quick with many hands. Lots of little jobs during the event. Race & vol no problem.
