First aid costs have increased significantly for this season hence we have had to increase entry fees by ~$2.
Entry fees now also include merchant service fees that used to be added to your entry fee.

About

HCC's summertime crits run during the daylight savings period (from 7^th Oct to 31^st Mar 2027); limited daylight hours at the beginning and end of the period means that the season gets fully underway (i.e., Juniors, Open and Women's grades) on 21^st Oct and runs through to 17^th Mar 2027. Limited daylight hours again limit the grades we can run in the last two weeks (24^thMar and 31^stMar 2027). See the table below.

Race durations and some briefing times change inline with available daylight. See the table below.

We have intermediate sprints for A, B & C grades when possible.

Note: Events may be cancelled if conditions are hazardous due to wet roads or other unforeseen circumstances.

Race Sequence and Times - Important Changes

Note: Once the full season gets underway (22^nd Oct) the race order will rotate so that A & C grades start at 6PM, followed by Women's grades and finishing with B & D grades. This way over three seasons all grades get to experience racing at all three start times.

Licensing

A current AusCycling Racing Membership is required. No license, no race.
If you're not an AusCycling member a 4 week trial is available at: Free Trial License
For overseas riders, an international UCI License are accepted.

Handicapping

You are expected to race the same grade this season as last. If you have justifiable reason to change grades please email Brendan: entries@hawthorncycling.org at least two days prior to your intended race and he will evaluate your request.

If you race at another location in Melbourne please enter for the same grade at the HCC crits.

It is the responsibility of each rider to enter into the correct grade. If you are not sure which grade to race, please email Brendan: entries@hawthorncycling.org.
