John Burgess Memorial Race

Welcome to the John Burgess Memorial Race.

This is one of our major Trophy races in the SBCC racing calendar in honour of John Burgess who was a much-loved member of the club.

This year we're back on Northwood Rd which was one of John favourite rides. As always we thank the Burgess family for allowing us to continue to use the family business, Burgess Signs, as our club rooms, as per John's best wishes.

Who will get their name on the John Burgess Memorial Trophy this year?

Race Format: Handicap

Course: Northwood Rd Out & Back

Distance: 43km

Registration & Parking: Burgess Signs, 82 Emily St, Seymour by 1.30pm

Start Time: Limit Group 2.00pm

Start Location: Start line at the bridge near 15 Manse Hill Rd, Seymour

Details: A moderate course with 318m elevation

This out and back course heads out over Manse Hill and follows Northwood Rd out to the turn around point at the Mitchellstown Rd intersection. Riders then return over the bumps on Northwood Rd, over the freeway climb, up over Manse Hill and into a fast decent to the finish close to the start line on Manse Hill Rd.

• At entry, please help the handicappers by selecting your normal club grade and providing a comment.
  Eg, Current form, riders of similar ability, accurate grading makes for better handicapping and great racing.
