New Rider Day – Experience the Thrill of Racing!
Ever wondered what it feels like to pin on a race number and experience the excitement of bunch racing? New Rider Day is the perfect opportunity to find out!
Whether you're new to racing or have been thinking about giving it a try, this is your chance to experience the adrenaline rush of competitive cycling. Expect a few butterflies on the start line, an elevated heart rate, burning legs, and the satisfaction of riding right on your limit. Trust us—the feeling of crossing the finish line after your first race is one you'll never forget.
If you have a friend from your local bunch ride who's been curious about racing, invite them along this Sunday. Our experienced members are always happy to welcome and support new riders, making it a friendly and enjoyable introduction to club racing.
This week's 42 km course has a little bit of everything. Riders will tackle the flatter roads of our world-famous two-lap circuit before heading onto the rollers along Nobles and Layards Roads. The race then builds towards a testing up hill finish on Larcombes Road B. It's a course that rewards smart riding, good positioning, and just enough grit when the finish comes into sight.
So, if you've ever wanted to discover what racing is all about, this is the day to do it. Come along, challenge yourself, and become part of the Geelong Surfcoast Cycling Club racing community. We look forward to welcoming plenty of new faces to the start line!
