After the testing climbs and rolling hills of Gum Flats Rd, Layards Rd and Nobles Rd in recent weeks, this week’s Aggregate Handicap swings the advantage back toward the sprinters as the bunch returns to a faster and more tactical course. The stronger riders will still look to make the race hard, but with fewer decisive climbs to split the field, teamwork, positioning and timing will become critical. BUT, depending on conditions, there could be another foe to battle - the wind! It can turn a smooth ride into a brutal test in an instant, nowhere more so than along the dreaded 'Misery Lane', where a headwind can break the strongest riders. To conquer a course that includes the world-famous 3 laps of Paraparap, you will need to master the conditions, and push your limits throughout this race.
