Volunteer

Volunteer Support – Be Part of the BDCC Race Team..
Our races rely on the support of dedicated volunteers to run safely and successfully. We are currently seeking volunteers for upcoming events, including vehicle support drivers and corner marshals.
These roles are essential to ensuring rider safety, smooth race operations, and a positive experience for all competitors. Without volunteer support, it is simply not possible to deliver safe and well-managed events.
Volunteering is also a great way to:.
Give back to the club and support fellow riders. Be part of a team environment on race day.
Gain a deeper understanding of how races are run
Stay involved in the sport, even when not racing
We encourage all members, families, and supporters to get involved and help keep our events running safely and successfully.
If you are available to assist, please follow the Volunteer link and add your name to a position that suits.

Controlled Rider Exit Policy

At the Commissaire’s discretion, a rider may be withdrawn from the race if they fall significantly behind and extend the race convoy (“race envelope”) to an unsafe distance, limiting the ability to safely manage and support the remaining competitors.
Race safety resources are critical and must remain in close proximity to the main body of riders. These resources cannot be spread beyond safe operational limits.
We appreciate all riders’ understanding and cooperation in prioritising the safety of the entire field.
Examples include:.
A rider who is dropped early from their group and is unable to maintain contact with subsequent groups.
A rider who has been overtaken by the scratch bunch with a significant distance still remaining in the race.
