About the Race:

The world-famous three-lap showdown at Paraparap is the kind of race every rider dreams of winning. It’s a course that serves up everything from rolling hills that sting the legs, fast flat sections where the pace can explode (especially when the tailwinds kick in) and of course - a constant battle against the elements. And then there’s the wind! Aways the wind! It can turn a smooth ride into a brutal test in an instant, nowhere more so than on the dreaded 'Misery Lane', where a headwind can break the strongest riders. To conquer the world-famous course you need to master the conditions, and push your limits.

Races are conducted at Paraparap, Victoria.

• GSCC conducts road racing events in the beautiful hinterland of Geelong’s Surfcoast region at Paraparap.

• The GSCC Club house is situated on Grassdale Rd, on the corner with Hunts Rd, it is just off Hendy Main Rd.

Race Details:

• Masters SuperVets racing. Open to all AusCycling members male 60 years of age or older and female 50 years of age or older

• Course: Start at clubrooms and 3 laps, finish Larcombes Rd (A)

• 9.30am sign in at Clubrooms, 10am race start

Misc.

• Course and distance to be confirmed by SuperVets coordinator via email prior to each Wednesday's race.

• Enter early, no late or walk up entries on the day

Safety Briefing

Races are conducted on open public roads & GSCC holds the necessary permits for this event.

The safety of Riders, Officials & the general public is our priority, please observe the following instructions :-

*Keep to the left at all times, to minimise the impact to other road users

*Obey Road Rules at all times

*Follow the directions of race officials

*In the sprint, maintain a straight line, and keep both your hands on the bars before, during and after the sprint

*Have a working tail light

*Attend the pre race briefing

While every endeavour has been to provide riders with a safe riding environment, we cannot predict the unexpected - cycle racing can be a dangerous sport.
