Race Entry/Grading Enquiries - email: handicappers@hamiltonwheelers.com
Remember, no dogs allowed at Lakeside Park
Eligibility - It is the rider's responsibility to ensure they have an AusCycling licence valid for racing on race day, before entering the event. Riders must not race without a valid race licence.
Licence Acknowledgement (Important) - When a rider enters to race, in addition to accepting all terms & conditions, they are certifying that they have a valid AusCycling Race licence for this type of event and that they are not suspended or disqualified by AusCycling from racing. Failure to ensure a licence is valid when racing, makes the rider liable to severe sanctions from AusCycling and exposes them to litigation for actions against them, which are not covered by insurance.
Eligibility - Grading - Riders must have an approved HWCC race grading. Riders who fail to have a HWCC grading or fail to submit a grading application when they enter this event will have their entry rejected - Click Here to apply for a grading. Provide a detailed explanation if you are applying to enter a different grade and check the start list before your race. HWCC Handicappers' decisions are final.
Entries - Entries close 7pm on Friday evening.
Entry Fees - Seniors + U17 -$25, HWCC Members $20 (includes Lakeside Circuit's one day licence fee of $10). Juniors entry fee is $10 (to cover the Lakeside fee).

Juniors - Juniors may race in senior races if they have a HWCC seniors grading (no separate races for juniors at Lakeside - sorry). All juniors U17s and younger must have their gearing rollout checked before picking up their race number.

If you have never raced with us...
Before you enter, you must -
Race Licences - While it is the responsibility of riders to hold the appropriate AusCycling licence for events; for riders with an annual licence, EntryBoss may automatically check validity when they enter. For riders with AusCycling 12 Month Payment Plans, EntryBoss cannot reliably validate these month to month licences. It is prudent for all riders to have their digital race licence available on their phone when signing on to race - Click here to find out how to display your licence on your phone
EntryBoss Entry - Please make sure your current AusCycling licence number is registered with EntryBoss before entering. Do not use a previous licence number.
Gradings - Riders should enter according to their current HWCC grading. Should a rider wish to enter an alternate grade, a detailed explanation should be provided in the comments section of the entry form with appropriate information. HWCC club handicappers review all provisional entries before they are confirmed. If a rider applies to race in a grade other than their current HWCC grading, they must check the EntryBoss startlist after 7pm on the evening before race day to confirm which grade they will be starting in. Grading lists - Click Here
Withdrawals - If a rider withdraws voluntarily during a race, they must advise the Commissaire/s, who will note the withdrawal and record the rider's race number.
Women's Races/Prizes - In events where there are no women's separate races, the first unplaced female in each grade is presented with a prize, provided there are 2 to 7 female entries. If 8 or more females enter any grade, there will be a 'race within a race'. Read HWCC Women's racing/prizes policy for an explanation - Click Here
M&N and Vets Grades - For events that the club doesn't cater for HWCC 'Masters and Novices' and 'Vets' graded riders grades (i.e Twilight Series, Interclubs), these riders may nominate to race in D grade via the EntryBoss entry (subject to club handicapper approval).
Rider Inquiries - If club officials require pre-race information on a rider's licence or grading, every effort will be made to contact them via their EntryBoss registered email address.
Registration/Race Patches - Start registration begins approx 30 minutes before the first race and and closes 10 minutes before each race start time. Riders must wear their race number patches on their right side for criteriums at Nundah and Lakeside. Patches must be worn on the left side for road races, ITTs and reverse direction criteriums at Nundah. There is a compulsory Commissaire's briefing before each race. Riders who miss this briefing will not be allowed to start.
Prizes - Cash prizes for seniors races are proportional to entry numbers and generally are awarded to the first 3 places. Prizes for juniors will be awarded appropriately.
Podium Presentations - First 4 riders in each grade will be presented at a podium presentation. There will be separate women's podium presentations if there are 3 or more women entered in a grade. Riders/spectators are encouraged to take photos.
Results - HWCC publishes all race results on their website (usually within a day or two) - Click Here
Race Scratchings - If riders find they are unable to race after entering HWCC races, they may 'scratch' themselves up to 5am on normal race days, 3pm for Twilight races and up to 7pm the night before handicap races - the entry fee will be refunded. Click on the 'Scratch' button on the EntryBoss event page. Please note that there is a small cost to the club due to unrecoverable merchant fees, whenever riders' scratch themselves.
Wet-weather Policy - A decision to cancel due to poor weather will be made by the Chief Commissaire with announcements via the club's social pages. Generally, we race in all weather, except heavy rain or if there are sheets of water on the road surface. Any decision on cancellation will be made as early as possible and will be published on the club's Facebook page.
All race entry fees will be refunded if races are cancelled.
Race Rules - Racing is conducted under the auspices of AusCycling rules and regulations. Helmets must comply with Australian (ADR) and UCI regulations for on public-road races and UCI regulations for off public-road races. AusCycling policies and rules - Click Here
