Capital Kamikaze Round 1 - Mt Gladstone, COOMA

Introduction

We are back baby! Anthony Elliott & Josh Kentwell are proud to be running Capital Kamikaze under our new business, Pinned Events Pty Ltd. The racing, froth levels and awesome trails being raced will be stepped up a notch as we take Capital Kamikaze to some new destinations this series! Both Anthony & Josh have helped run Capital Kamikaze since 2020 through CORC and both are passionate about MTB racing. Through Pinned Events Pty Ltd, Capital Kamikaze will take Enduro racing to the next level and both Josh & Anthony are excited to see you all this coming series!

NEW for 2024/25 Series:

  • Series Points will be awarded each round, overall winners crowned at the last race for each category (Round 4)
  • Series leaders will be identifiable each round with a unique race plate.
  • Podiums each race (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
  • Outer Image will provide photos from the day (no extra cost)
  • E-Bike Elite & E-Bike General categories
  • MAJOR prize to be raffled off at the last race - Each race you enter gives you an entry into the draw. More races = More chances to win! (must be present at final race to claim prize, otherwise will be re-drawn)
  • Trail maps to be released the weekend prior to race day

Round 1

Round 1 of the Capital Kamikaze is hitting the road and heading to Cooma - Mt Gladstone! Race day will be on Sunday, 25th of August 2024. Mt Gladstone is a great place to ride and even better place to race as it has something for everyone. From fast, flowing and groomed trails through to big rock slabs and janky natural trails. There will be A & B Lines around most features, you can even get off you bike and walk sections if you want. More details will be emailed to riders the week leading up to race day.

Race Day Licence

To be able to race, you need to have either a VALID & CURRENT Aus Cycling Membership or a Race Day Licence which can be purchased via the link below. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SHOW PROOF OF EITHER AT REGISTRATION ON RACE DAY. IF NOT, YOU WONT BE ALLOWED TO RACE AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE PROVIDED. This gives you Public Liability & limited Personal Accident insurance whilst racing - If purchasing a "One Day Event Licence" make sure you purchase it on SATURDAY BEFORE THE RACE as it commences from the day of purchase and will be valid for 2 days, that way you will be covered for racing this round.

How Does Gravity Enduro Work?

Gravity Enduro is basically a large adventure loop with timed descents. After leaving in category order, riders will start each competition stage individually with minimum of 30 seconds between each competitor. At the end of the day, the fastest combined time overall on the competition stages is the category winner

Course map & Practice rules

This will be released the weekend BEFORE the race. You may practice as much as want before the race but race set up will happen on SATURDAY.

Wet weather

If the race has to be cancelled due to wet weather, a refund may be issued.

Race Rules

  • NO.1 RULE - FULL RESPECT FOR THE RACE CREW. We are honoured to have so many volunteers supporting our events in the capacity of marshals and other roles. Any negativity toward them will not be tolerated in any way shape or form!! Ensure you give them stoke at every opportunity!
  • A helmet is compulsory for all rounds. Full face is highly recommend, but open face is fine too.
  • All riders must be fully self-sufficient by carrying their own food and water. Minimum requirement suggested is 600ml water & food/snacks to last for the duration of the event
  • U17 - Knee pads & covered elbows (elbow pads or long sleeve jersey) are compulsory and recommended for other categories
  • Your bike must be in good working order, with front and back working brakes.
  • Follow all marshals’ instructions
  • Riders that are caught by faster riders must yield. Approaching rider must give advance notice.
  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour under any circumstance will not be tolerated

TERMS & CONDITIONS RACE WAIVER AND LIABILITY RELEASE

By signing up to a Capital Kamikaze which is owned and run by Pinned Events Pty Ltd event you agree to the following: • I agree that if I suffer injury Capital Kamikaze can, at my cost, arrange medical treatment and emergency evacuation services as Capital Kamikaze deems essential for my safety. I hereby agree that I am responsible for my own medical and ambulance insurance and for medical and ambulance costs in the advent of an accident. • I confirm that I am aware that a professional first aid medic will be on-site during the event, and should I choose to complete a training ride anytime before the race start I do that on my own risk. • I agree to allow my photograph, video, multimedia, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the organisers, sponsors, or others. • I have read the liability release above and agree with all its provisions. • If the rider is under the age of 18 years, consent of a parent or guardian is required • In consideration of Capital Kamikaze accepting my participation in any individual event organised by Capital Kamikaze, which may involve a significant risk of physical harm, I agree to this release of claims, waiver of liability and assumption of risk. • I accept that Mountain Biking/Cycling is a hazardous experience or activity with varying surface and environmental conditions. It is different from road bicycling in that it is done on partially improved and unimproved trails and roads, as well as on naturally rugged terrain. • I am aware that Mountain Biking/Cycling is a recreational activity which may involve, in addition to usual and inherent risks, personal injury, obvious risk, danger to myself, the possibility of injury and harm and physical exertion for which I may not be prepared, remoteness to normal medical service, weather extremes subject to sudden and unexpected change and evacuation difficulties if I am disabled. • I accept all of the inherent and obvious risks and that mountain biking is a dangerous recreational activity and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom. I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of Mountain Biking/Cycling is derived in part from the inherent risks incurred by the activity beyond the accepted safety of life at home or work and that these inherent risks contribute to such enjoyment and excitement being a reason for my participation. • I hereby acknowledge that I am aware of the nature of the course and am aware of the risks to person and property inherent in this activity and certify that I am medically fit and able to take part in the event. • I hereby agree to abide by any rules, directions and instructions of any race officials and their assistants. • I undertake to wear an Australian Standards approved helmet at all times when cycling/MTB racing and practising the course. • I undertake to practice the course before commencing the race, and if this is not possible, race with due regard to the knowledge that I have not examined the course. • I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors or administrators, waive all and any fights of claims which I may otherwise have against Capital Kamikaze, and release their officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, public bodies, land holders, licensors and sponsors from any and all claims, suits, demands, expenses, costs, damages or proceedings of any nature whatsoever arising from any personal injury, death, property damage or loss of description whatsoever which I may suffer or sustain in the course or the events or consequent upon my entry or participation in them. • I hereby indemnify and hold harmless Capital Kamikaze, their officers, agents, contractors, and sponsors from and against all claims, suits, demands, expenses, costs, actions, and proceedings of any nature whatsoever arising from any injury, loss or damage sustained by me or any injury, loss or damage suffered by any other person as a result of any act, omission, neglect or default on my part in connection with my participation in the event.

Race waver - E-Bike riders

• I (the rider) acknowledge that the e-bike that I am using at the Capital Kamikaze event is compliant with Australian regulations for power-assisted pedal cycles. • I understand that non-compliance with Australian regulations may result in risks to my safety and the safety of others. • I acknowledge that using a non-compliant e-bike at a Capital Kamikaze event may result in a penalty and/or disqualification, and that any damage or injury caused by a non-compliant e-bike is the sole responsibility of the rider. • By participating in a Capital Kamikaze event, I agree to use an e-bike that is compliant with Australian standards and to take full responsibility for any risks or damages resulting from non-compliance. • I agree that e-bikes can be checked for compliance by a race official during the event. Non compliance can lead to disqualification or a ban to participate in future Capital Kamikaze events.

Insurance

• You are responsible to cover yourself for the race. If you have a valid Aus Cycling racing membership, then you will be covered. If not, then, you can purchase a 1 Day Race Licence from the Aus Cycling website. Transfer or Cancel/Refund Policy

Cancel my entry

Up to 1 week prior to the event you will receive 100% of your entry back. Less than 1 week to go (including the Sunday before the race), we are not able to refund your entry. You can cancel your entry by sending an email to info@pinnedevents.com.au

Transfer my entry

You can transfer your entry to a future event or someone else. This needs to be done with up to 1 week prior to the event. Less than this (including the Sunday before the race) and no transfer/refund will be issued. You can transfer your entry by sending an email to info@pinnedevents.com.au

No refunds or credits will be given after the race has started.
