About

The ACT Track Championships are back for 2019, with a bigger and better race program! Spread over 2 weeks, there is ample opportunity to compete in your preferred events, while being able to try your chances in less familiar events.

Note to all riders

Once entry has been paid, one member of the entered team must provide the following details of all team members to act.info@cycling.org.au :

  • Name
  • Age
  • Category you wish to enter
  • membership no.

Where team numbers are insufficient, mixed gender teams will be permitted


Programme

Team Sprint

Team Sprints will 3 be laps for the men’s grade, 2 laps for the woman’s grades. U15, U13,U11 if entries are sufficient will do two laps. No U9s team sprints. Masters and elite grades will be aged based, teams of 3 riders in:

  • group 1 combined minimum age 150 years +
  • group 2 combined minimum age 110 years + (may include an elite rider)

Elite Women 9 laps (3,000 metres)
Masters Men 1 to 4 9 laps (3,000 metres)
Masters Men 5 plus 6 laps (2,000 metres)

Junior Men Under 19 9 laps (3,000 metres)
Junior Women Under 19 6 laps (2,000 metres)
Junior Men Under 17 6 laps (2,000 metres)
Junior Women Under 17 6 laps (2,000 metres)
Junior Men Under 15 6 laps (2,000 metres)
Junior Women Under 15 6 laps (2,000 metres)
Junior Under 13 2 lap (666 metres)
Junior Under 11 1 lap (333 metres)
Junior Under 9 1 lap (333 metres)

Junior Riders

Junior riders competing in events that do not qualify for championship events for their age group will receive ribbons in lieu of medals.

Why is ACT Championships registration more expensive than a club race?

As well as the regular costs like venue hire first aid, and traffic control, there are extra costs involved in holding state championships, such as paying an honorarium to the commissaires who officiate the race, and purchasing medals for 34 age categories.

Clothing

Cycling ACT Technical Regulations and Bylaws require riders racing in colours other than the colours of their Club to be approved by the federation.
