-This is round 3 of the 2019 CORC XC club season. There are 5 rounds planned for 2019. These are fun races open to riders of a wide range of abilities. New for 2019 is that our clubraces are also listed as a tier 3 event under MTBA's national cup, for eligible categories.
-For this round we would like support Bec and Dan McConnell's fundraiser for Australia's 2019 Australian Champion's to compete in the World Championships. Riders on the Australian Team are self funded, responsible for their own travel and racing expenses. The estimated cost to each rider is $3,600 to represent Australia at the World Championships. The aim is to raise $2,000 for each rider to subsidise their costs. We will be taking cash donations on at rego, but you can also donate directly at the gofundme page here. As an extra incentive the highest donation will win an Australian Team Jersey signed by the 2019 Champions.
-There is a Rocky Trails Shimano GP on Saturday at Stromlo. Why not make it a big weekend of racing and enter both races! There are team and solo options , further details can be found here.
-Now that the summer heat is over we have moved the race start back to 10am.
West Stromlo, a course map can be seen here.. Parking will be off Uriarra Road. (Please note that the gate to the Uriarra carpark will be open for the duration of the race only. If you plan to go for an extra ride after the race please move your car out of the carpark so we can lock the gate again.)
There will be a Rocky Trails race on some of the same trails the day before so the course will not be bunted until the morning of the race. For those that want to pre-ride the course, please do this before Saturday 13 April. The course will run the following trails:
Fire road climb(start lap only) -> Party Line -> Party Climb -> Fire road to Dingo -> Dingo -> White Gums -> Willo Link -> Casuarina Climb (to intersect Slick Rock) -> Slick Rock into last part of Pork Barrell -> Double Dissolution -> Crim Track to 1st fire road -> Fire road back to start
